I set up a party for 30 people at Orchid for my boyfriend's surprise birthday party. I had never been there before but it looked cool on the website so I decided to go for a gamble. First of all it was HUGE with a nice sized dance floor. Also the bar was large as well and we never had to wait to be served a drink. All our friends were raving about the food and the DJ was friendly playing a lot of 80's music which we enjoy. We danced, drank and ate in a private booth area then headed upstairs to the largest karaoke room they have available. The selection of karaoke songs was amazing they had every song we looked for and to top it off the wait staff was just fantastic. They were helpful and prompt. All and all our friends were very pleased and we will probably go back again for a night of fun. There is no cover charge which is amazing, the drinks were moderately priced, and the karaoke wasn't too expensive and worth it to be in a private room with all of your friends. I definitely recommend Orchid, you should go! Pros: Everything Cons: None

This is a low class karaoke place trying to steal your money!!! The food is the most disgusting I have ever eaten in my whole entire life! The short ribs taste like pure salted fat! You can't even taste meat. The supposed "chicken" quesadillas didn't include grilled chicken. It was like shredded "chicken" but it did not taste like chicken but tasted worst than canned tuna. It was also dripping in oil. The korean dumplings did not have any taste and two of the dumplings had hair in it!!! Soo disgusting! When we told the manager they just said sorry we'll bring you another one. We didn't want another one! We couldn't trust their food anymore and they would not comp it. We had a group of 14 and nobody ate after they saw those hairs! The martini's are overpriced. They charged 15 for the martinis that tasted watered down. They weren't even strong! Could barely taste the alcohol. When the bill came they only allowed two credit cards. They were like we can only split the bill in 1/2 and take 2 credit cards. What kind of place is this!!??? They were like you should of told us in the beginning that you had more than two cards. I have never run into this situation in my whole life. 1/2 of the people in our party did not know one another so how could they expect for someone to just pay for someone else. They also added on 20 % tip which is absurd for a piece of beep place!! For 14 people we only had 1 server and he was not even helping us and there was no other dinner parties! It took 4ever to order more drinks and it took 1 hour to even get 2 appetizers. We were the only people eating! I don't understand how it could take so long! The bill situation took one whole hour!! I made reservations from 10 to 2 am and we were supposed to done with dinner by 10 but weren't done with the bill til 11and they charged us for that 1st hour because 2 people were waiting in the karaoke room until everyone else was done with the bill. in ktown, its rare to find a huge drinking place with high ceilings and full bar. not to mention the karaoke bar just upstairs. Orchid is known for hosting private parties, movie premiere afterparties, celebrities... i'm not one to give a sh!t about celebrities. I would just go there to get away from the common crowded, super rowdy places. The food is really good and come in large portions. You can either order cocktails from your table or go to the bar and order it there. Their scooby snacks are made perfectly but white russians; not so much. Bottle service is also available and you can put it on reserve for about a week if you dont finish it. Many times I've gone they've had a live DJ and you'll see lots of people dancing towards drunk hour. The elevator is nice if you dont want to walk up those 3 dozen or so stairs to the karaoke bar. The only cons i've noticed are that they're closed random days and weekends. The outside smoking area definitely has to be extended. It fits maybe 10-15 people. Pros: check id, full bar, good food & drinks, roomy, karaoke upstairs Cons: teeny tiny smoking area, closed randomly, can get expensive

We went to this place with a bunch of friends on a saturday night, the place is great. Good service and nice private rooms, valet parking is available. Only complaint is that the songlist needs to be expanded and you need to figure out how to handle the keyboard. Highly Recommended
