We went in on a monday night before christmas after reading a review that stated the great food was now cheaper due to the struggles of the restaurant to stay afloat. Well, I can tell you they should have focused a little harder on service and food quality. The menu was limited, which would have been fine but for the fact that there was a lot of radicchio in everything that didn't have meat in it. I tried it anyway- radicchio in lasagna is just as awful as you think it would be. I had a decent mini pizza with artichoke and shrimp, but it was very small and not worth 8 dollars. I have no issue spending money on small amounts of food if its high quality, but I didn't feel I was getting anything special for the price- and the reason they get one star is due to service more than the food. The server was very pushy, I felt like they were rushing to get us out when we hadn't even ordered a drink yet. I'm in the service industry (and I go out to eat all the time to a variety of places) so I do not hog a table all night and refuse to order, so I was annoyed by the unwarranted pushiness, the lack of help- soon the entire place filled up and it became clear he was the ONLY server there- then he took a long time to bring my credit card charge- he gave the card back but no charge slip- which became clear why on christmas eve when I see my account was charged not only for my dinner but someone elses! So I called, expecting to get my meal gratis as this is what my workplace does when they make such an error, but all I got was a Sorry, I don't know when the owner is in to fix it...today is such a bad time (christmas eve). Um, yeah! missing money in my account on christmas eve is a bad time for me too. sheesh! then the owner calls and leaves a voicemail that he will take that extra charge off. Gee, thanks. Way to go above and beyond. What a waste of money! Don't go if you want a nice dinner, or nice service- but if you love radicchio, go for it.
Pros: small dining room, low lighting
Cons: service and food

All' Angelo is truly a gem hidden amongst the chaos on Melrose Ave. The owner Stephano warmly greets every guest and promptly seats them. I recommend the classic Prosecco to start your night of true authenticity! The Chichetti menu is a must. The mushroom tortellini and cauliflower timbale are amazing, the trippe is sooo good it was voted the Best in Los Angeles! The servers are very active and concerned, and the wine list is out of this world! To end the night, after much indecisiveness, I ordered the panna cotta with Port sauce which was light, but also very rich tasting and delicious.
There was a recent addition of a prosecco/champagne lounge that is wonderful to sit at when you have arrived first in your party. The lounge menu offers a delightfully crispy fritto misto and big eyed tuna tartar dish that I highly reccommend. Needless to say, I will be returning to this restaurant frequently.
Pros: food & wine, service, atmosphere, etc.
Cons: NONE

This restaurant has very authentic Italian dishes. I had the most incredible and delicious pasta and meat dishes that I have had in a while. I highly recommend the Lamb Ragout Pasta or the Buffalo Mozzarella Ravioli. I also would highly recommend the Cichetti menu. This menu offers Venetian style appetizers for a great price. This menu allows for you to try several different smaller Italian dishes. This menu is the perfect way to go out to an amazing high-end restaurant with out breaking the bank.
I went with a group of friends and we had memorable experience, but it would also be a perfect date spot. I would go back the All? Angelo in a second because of its amazing Italian dishes and an all around great experience.

after spending 3 weeks in Italy (tuscany to be exact), i've been really picky with my italian food. all'angelo, though, exceeded my expectations. i loved it! my lobster risotto was creamy and rich without being overbearing. i stayed far away from the tripe, which is pretty traditional, but my mom seemed to love it. the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, even though it's such a nice restaurant. i'm so glad i heard about this place.

From the moment we sat down, our dinner experience was phenomenal. We decided to go with a tasting menu, with I highly recommend because it's catered to the individual, which meant my friend who's basically a vegetarian was also given star treatment, something hard to find in this town. The wine list is superb, put together by the owner who recommended a beautiful Italian Pinot Nero to go with our dinner. Service was attentive, but not intrusive, and very knowledgable as well. Can't wait to go again.

I love this restaurant and I LOVE their new Cichetti menu!! They're Venetian-style appetizers and it's a great way to try out the food without committing to price of the actual menu. Although once you've tried it, you'll want to become a regualr. Dishes like the Marinated Wild Salmon Carpaccio, the Raddichio Lasagna (amazing!), and the Truffled Foie Gras Canape are all recommended, especially with their extensive wine list. Everything is authentic and delicious, and it all makes for an incredible, intimate-dining experience.
Pros: The food is amazing, and the service is great.
Cons: The price is a little high for everyday, so I'd recommend the Cichetti menu.
