This place is a very sweet neighborhood cafe full of regulars, and a youthful, casual, and friendly wait staff. They offer all kinds of different wraps, sandwiches, and omelettes. On the weekends there's usually a wait, but it's worth it. If you're there on a day when they are offering the lentil soup, consider yourself lucky. The lentil soup is the best lentil I have ever had, it's very fresh and healthy and yummy. Other favorites of mine are the turkey burger, New Times Club (with generous slices of turkey breast, avocado, and swiss), the ahi tacos, and their red cole slaw! Also, they have the best hot chai in town, and when its hot out, ask for the Orange Cream Dream drink. It's like a creamsicle! Highly reccommended. Why bother going to this place? The SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS - especially if your unlucky enough to get that one waitress - the one with the short hair and long face. Why is this woman still working there? Does she think her attitude will PROVE she's from LA, when those of us who are natives dont really need an attitude to belong? This place is the running joke of all who live on our block about a mile away, with 90% LA natives, none of whom will eat there anymore. You would think that with SOO much competition in the neighborhood, they would make sure they offered something better. There is a reason the wait is longer across the street THEY ARE BETTER THAN YOU, THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE WHO RATHER EAT THERE!! TAKE A LESSON! It may be the fact that there is little to no indoor seating, or that the dishes seem pretentiously postured--but something about this cafe made it seem more like a place to display your tiny dog or glam outfit than to go and have a casual brunch with friends. The menu was overpriced and unnecessarily frou-frou, especially considering the offerings right across the street at the more sincere Home. Unless you're LOOKING to display your tiny dog, in which case, happy eating!

The wait for our food (you order at the counter and they bring it to you) was way longer than what's normally tolerable but the food was so great that I instantly forgot how annoyed I was. The french fries are incredible. The turkey burger was yummy. And although I never use mustard, their's was so good I dipped my fries in them throughout the meal. The garden is so nice-- I could bring a book and sit there all day! Which works out, given the wait time for your order! Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: wait time

Prices, however, were on the high side for breakfast. Be warned, self-sign-in waitlist is handled by each server, not a host/hostess, so groups of 4 should request inside seating if they want to eat comfortably. Service was smiling and polite, but may be overtaxed during rushes. Recommended, especially out-of-towners. This place has an extensive menu for breakfast and lunch. The food is really good and there is something for everyone. My only complaint is the service. Our waiter was nice, but he disappeared. He did not refill my water until I asked him to and then it was warm water. Not once did he check in with us to see if we needed anything. I also noticed the other waiters were too busy chatting which resulted in a very slow turnover rate. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you.
