If you go to hot wings cafe, go for what they can clearly do best (hence the restaurant title) - wings. I have tried their sandwiches and have always been disappointed, but their wings are the best I've had in LA. The staff is always very friendly, and they have cheap beer.

Ok, I’m going to say it now, so you know. This place has a full menu, but make sure you ONLY get the hot wings. They have a special on Tuesdays, also, I think. I tried to get a sandwich one time, one where a “skyscraper-high pile” of pastrami was promised, and I got a soggy, wet sandwich. Stick to the hot wings, it’s what they do best. Oh and you can drink in there, which is cool.

If you love chicken wings, this is the place to go. Service is fantastic -- only beat by the yummy wings. They have spicy or mild. We love them both (but our kids just like the mild). This is a very casual, friendly place. Nice place to go with kids. Prices are very reasonable. Free parking outside, but sometimes hard to find a place. Nice to go for a walk on Melrose after dinner, too.
