Westwood Sporting Goods Company offers quite the variety of sporting goods. It's one of the few stoers in the westwood area that offers products related to sports. A nice, familiar, family atmopshere sets it apart from stores like Big 5 or Sports Chalet. The help is effective and the prices are reasonable. Located on Gayley, it is easy to find, but parking is a bit difficult.

I LOVE arcades, especially Westwood Arcade .. great atmosphere - lots of young adults and college students come here to hang out after classes and on the weekends so its usually pretty crowded - although not TOO crowded. The parking is terrible though - hard to find and when you DO find it, its very expensive to park your car.

15 hole golf course?? Thats not a typo. This used to be a full 18 holes back when it opened, forever ago, but due to LAX's last renovation three of the holes here were swallowed up to make room for more runway. What that leaves is problematic in two ways. First, no one I know really likes to play 15 holes of golf. Its hard to judge your score, you're not really into it, and even those 15 holes seem short. I'd almost rather they made the course a long 9 hole, but hey, you get what you get. Second there is an unbelievably annoying amount of noise from planes taking off and landing all the time. What this combination makes for is a nice course which plays terrible. There are plenty of tough holes, dog-legs and water hazards, but the noise is just too much for me. Played here twice, but couldn't take it any more. I believe they offer night play as well, but I don't think adding any more difficulty to an already demanding course is necessary.

This is a strip of grass with some basketball courts, a small community center, and a baseball diamond. On weekends, there are soccer games and baseball games. During the week, some kids play basketball, but mostly the park is empty.
You definitely want to avoid it at night, since it is very close to a local gang and there is some shady business at night.
It's also the local polling place during elections.
