Our first few years at St. James' were wonderful. But after the appointment of head Stephen Bowers three years ago, the school has been deteriorating at an astonishing rate. He fired almost the entire administrative staff upon his arrival, and replaced them with friends from his previous school in Las Vegas. (A school he was dismissed from under dubious circumstances.) Tuition has doubled. Fundraising efforts have become aggressive, bordering on confrontational. And it is virtually impossible to get in touch with any key administrator. We stayed because of the excellent teaching staff, and our son's relationship with the other students. This past year alone saw the mass exodus of more than a quarter of the staff, and many families that have had enough. If this wasn't our son's last year, we would have left too.
