I am a regular customer at Judy's Pet Depot, and I have nothing but compliments to share about this store. Unlike any other pet stores (including Petco and Petsmart), Judy's Pet Depot sincerely cares about the well-being of their pets. There is a rescue group (Kris Kelly Foundation) that just built in a cattery for cats up for adoption-- they ADOPT out rescue animals to loving, permanent homes. THEY DO NOT SELL PUPPIES FROM PUPPY-MILLS TO MAKE PROFIT AND NOTHING ELSE. The owner is Judy and she does not sell puppies because she cares about placing homeless animals in phenomenal homes-- she has a caring heart and truly loves animals. The store sells really cool items from gourmet dog cookies to trendy leashes and collars. They sell high quality foods, and Judy is always there to assist customers. Prices are GREAT! And... you can purchase items that are not available at Petco or Petsmart stores. Become a regular customer like me-- and meet Judy and her wonderful staff including the KK Foundation rescue team.

I go this pet shop all the time. I can see that the new owner is trying to make this pet shop a friendly place. But I also see some stuff that they need to improve better... I have birds so I check their birds and it's sad to say that the water is usually dirty, the cage is over crowded and sometimes the food cups aren't supplied enough and dirty as well. If Judy is there at the shop, I can tell her and she does what I suggest immediately. But other stuff don't act quickly enough. Nowadays, I change the water myself and noticed that the cup isn't washed properly. I think it's nice that they rescue the animal but hope they educate themselves to gain more knowledge about taking care of them.

I used to love going to Katie's Pet Depot on Westwood. The staff was great and you could always find exactly what you needed. It was the perfect antidote to the corporate Petco or Centinela Feed. This new owner (Judy) is a complete flake. She doesn't appear to know much about pets if you ask her some basic questions. When I was looking at the kittens (because I wanted to purchase one) she yelled at me for even trying to touch one. And lastly, the prices are much higher for the same items you can find at the Pet Depot on Pico.

I had a bad experiance here. I went to buy a hamster here and they were not nice to me at all. I just wanted a hamster, not snobbery. They would not sell it to me unless I bought an overpriced cage that they deemed appriporate. They were rude and their prices were quite high. i won't shop there again.
