In order to experience the Magic Castle you have to be invited by a magician. Upon entry you will have the option of checking out various shows in different rooms of the castle or in the grand room. The food is decent and the magicians are actually very good. Definitely a unique experience that shouldn't be passed up.

This is a club for magician's, and to visit you have to get invited. PLUS you have to pay for food. But the food I have had is pretty ok.

The castle itself has a lot of silly little gimmicky things, like you would expect. A piano that "hears" what you are saying and plays almost any song you request.
There are a lot of shows going on at the same time, and I thought the magician's we have seen (i have been twice) were pretty good. Pretty funny too.
I think there is also a rule that the magician who invites you can't be the performance you go to. I think it's a money issue.

After giving your name to the hostess at the front, you are given a passwoord which you must give to the stuffed bird sitting on a bookcase, which then opens. Then you enter the famous magic castle, a club for magicians and millionaire malcontents. there is a bar, a lounge with a piano that takes requests -- though there is no player-- apparently it's a ghost, and a dungeon downstairs. Thhere are a few close-up theatres and one grand stage where all forms of prestidigitation occur. If you can manage to get an invitation, GO.
