The Southwest museum is dedicated to the Native Americans from all over. I love looking at all the artwork and learning how the native americans lived both before and after the Europeans came over. There's usually a lot of schools there on, so later in the day/early morning may be your best time to visit. Its situated right off the 110 Freeway, so sometimes traffic can be a pain. But this museum is definitely worth it.

The Southwest Museum is an attractive museum in the Mt. Washington area of Los Angeles dedicated to American Indian art. The building itself is interesting, looking more like a mission than a museum. Be sure to take a look around the grounds as well, as they are landscaped to reflect each of the different types of habitats common to the region. It is easy to get to by mass tranist, the Gold Lines stops right across the street from it.
