This venerable old museum is the classic natural history museum, the kind of place we all went to on field trips when we were young. They have reconstructed dinosaurs, collections from Egypt and other parts of the ancient world and a lot more. Their feature exhibition is usually something with a broad popular appeal, and these are generally pretty good, too. Recent exhibitions have included the freakishly popular "Body Worlds" as well as exhibits on Baseball and Dogs.

The Natural HIstory Museum is in a beautiful building with plenty of parking available. I went with my family on a first Tuesday of the month because admission is free. The place has really interesting exhibits and my favorite are the gem collections as well as the beautiful live butterfuly exhibit outside.

This museum was really cool when I went. The displays with the animals are the coolest, and kids seem to be most interested in those. There's not a lot of "hands-on" things though. There is A LOT of stuff in this museum ranging from animals, dinosaurs, and Native American and other "normal" artifacts you would find in any museum. The area of town is a little confusing to drive around if you're not familiar with the area, so make sure you get good directions to find out where to park and make sure you're not going on a day when everyone is going to be at the Coliseum which is nearby.
