Where else can you ensure that you have the best seats before the show even starts! I love this place and every other theater pales in comparison!
Pros: Online seat selection, comfortable seats, great staff
Cons: always, always busy!

The Grove's a very beautiful place and I love walking around at night when they have the lights up and music going. If you go on an off peak day, you're almost certain to see celebs there. But I really like only going here because it's within walking distance and they have a huge Barnes and Noble. If I had to drive though, I probably wouldn't come as often. Plus the movie theaters are expensive (special pricing just for Friday and Saturday!). But the atmosphere is great to get a taste of LA, the restaurants are pretty good, and they have a very entertaining water show. It might not be Bellagio, but it's still very romantic...

I love this theater located on Sunset, because of the huge screens, comfortable seating and the fact that they have a bar. Not to mention they have lots of premieres here so you might even see a celebrity here. They even have better food at the concession stand. I had this sausage thing and it was actually really good. They have a members card, which helps you gain points towards free stuff. The staff is really friendly and seem to like their jobs, which is uncommon in most movie theaters.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre turns a night of filmgoing into a real event. The Chinese motiff, with dragons and ornate decorations, adds a whole other dimension to the movie experience. It truly is larger than life, so it's best to see a fantastic movie there. I saw the first Lord of the Rings there, and the atmosphere of the place really helped me get into the film.

The Laemmle family of independent theaters is one of the reasons I love Los Angeles. From the current indie phenomenon to festivals of the obscure and odd, Laemmle brings a variety of entertainment to you. This complex in particular, at the base of the Sunset Strip, is a fun spot to sip a coffee, browse some records at Tower, then head over to the Laemmle for the latest off-the-beaten path hit.

This is a cool theater, it definitely makes you feel like you're in Hollywood, sightseeing LA. It's a place you've gotta go at least once if you're in LA, and it's right across the street from the Grauman Chinese theater, so you can visit all the little tourist shops and see the footprints and handprints of the stars. Traffic and parking are really bad in that area though. The theater itself is really nice on the inside. It had a little area set up as a mini-museum when I went. The seating area has a balcony and a curtain over the screen and everything is decorated very nicely. I recommend going here at least once to check it out!

The Bridge Deluxe Cinema theater takes your movie going experience to a higher level. You really wonder if you've stepped into a movie theater. Impeccably maintained. Very comfortable seats and spacious. Enough leg room. The IMAX screen is out of this world. You can choose your seats in the Director's Hall which has leather seats. Its expensive but worth the money once in a while. They also have a lounge with a full bar. Great place to hang out with friends on a Friday night.

This movie theater in West Los Angeles is one of a kind. Reminiscent of old fashioned theaters it only has one screen and is unlike all of the megaplex theaters. As the lights dim and the giant curtain pulls back the walls of the theater display famous sites from the city. This theater is privately owned but still shows new popular titles.

Their all-revival schedule boasts double features the likes of 2001 + Clockwork Orange, or Corpse Bride + Willy Wonka. From the classic to the contemporary, this theater offers themed pairings for just about six dollars. A wonderful way for a movie buff to wile away a warm Sunday. Though the sound and picture are sometimes wanting, it's a great establishment to visit.
