My friend introduced me to this place and it was amazing!
We ordered a few entrees and they were all great! I tried things I never would have ordered on my own. We had radish cakes (amazing!), squid salad (spicy and amazing!), wonton soup with pork (I LOVED IT) and a noodle dish with shrimp pork and chicken...pad see ew maybe? It too was wonderful. Everything was quick and tasted delicious. Itis a small place always alot of people there but weve never waited more than 5 minutes for a table. It's cash only don't forget!
Pros: Fast, tasty and cheap
Cons: Cash only

I'm still looking for a comparable place to Thai Nakorn in Stanton on Beach/Chapman. I really thought this would be the one. It's really just more like Thai fast-food. It wasn't bad food, but they only use dark meat chicken (it's not clear on the menu). We also ordered pad thai and it came with a lovely strip of completely raw chicken mixed in the noodles. Good thing we mixed it before we ate or we'd be quite ill today. The waitress didnt' seem suprised, but took it back and gave us a new entree. Very low prices, but I'd rather pay a little more...unless I'm drunk at 2am and hungry for some quick Thai.

Our friend from Thailand took my husband to this cafe when they were in college. The Thai friend states that the food there is really authentic. My husband likes it and has been eating there since college. The variety of noodles is excellent. I like the General noodles with flat rice noodles. The Spicy Beef noodles are very good. Try the raw shrimp with spices and lemon. It's yummy and really spicy.
Pros: Tasty food
Cons: Small parking lot

Rude servers, my friends came from other state and were craving for Thai food. I thought of this restaurant and I felt so embarrass for the way service was given. The servers did not care and served us cold food, spilled drink and gave us dirty look as it was our fault. My chinese friends asked about some item that they did not have at the time, server told us it was okay if we wanted to leave to other restaurant. I could not believe it!!!!!!!! That was service given if you are Thai or Asain, yet servers seemed to be a little bit more willing to help when American customers walked in. I gave tip base on service I was given, but they gave service base on races. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! Since then I've never go back and never will. Too bad owner does not care about how the servers ruin reputation of his restaurant.
ONE OUT OF 10 HAPPY CUSTOMERS WILL TELL THEIR FRIENDS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE;
ONE UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WILL TELL 10 OR MORE PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: BAD SERVICE, RUDE SERVER, COLD FOOD

I think that some of the other reviewers just have an adversion to Hollywood. Yes Hollywood can be a bit nasty, but hey it's home. I had a great meal, the servers were nice, good tea, mixed ethnic crowd. The only issue I had is I had to walk up the street to the ATM because they only take cash. On my way to the ATM, I got cruised by some guy who I think believed me to be a "pro". Come one, it was Sunday afternoon and I am wearing hemp clothing and uggs boots, so not enticing! But I did manage to redeem my afternoon by a nice plate of chicken panang and some rice noodles. SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!
Pros: Authentic and cheap
Cons: cash only

i have always been a fan of sanamluang in sherman oaks but since i ended up in the wrong branch which is here in hollywood blvd coz i dont live in this area then i had to settle eating here. my gps died so i didnt know how to get to the sherman oaks branch...Flies, Flies and flies everywhere... i needed to give a feedback about this restaurant somehow because of the rude servers they have... yes servers with an attitude of rudeness!!! They throw the plates, utensils, and napkins at you as you sit down, you have to set the table yourself. No greeting, no smiles, no words, just impatient blank stares when you're ready to order (as in "are you gonna order or what?"). I have no clue what to order in this restaurant since they said they are totally different from the sherman oaks branch. ARGGGHHH!!!!! And when the order is ready, of course, why bother set it on the table when they can throw it at the customer.i have told all my friends about not eating in this branch ever again!!!!!!!
Cons: rude servers

It may not be a very "pretty" restaurant, and the parking may bit a bit complicated. But when I crave Thai food, this is THE place to go. Don't dress up, it feels a lot more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, but I promise you, the food is quality and the value amazing. Chicken pad thai, that has the best flavor of any pad thai I've ever had (and I eat a lot of pad thai), only costs $5.50. And a thai ice tea is only $1.50. The curries are great, and everyone I've ever eaten with here, was really happy. I think the best way to find out the best foods are to ask people who are experts in that particular food for advice. I've asked several Thai acquaintances where to go for the best thai food in L.A., and they all mentioned Sanamluang. If you care a lot about ambience and can't put up with a little bit of complicated parking then please go somewhere else. I'd rather you didn't go, complain, and post another misleading bad review.
Pros: Food is great, and prices are low!
Cons: Ambience is bad, parking lot always crowded

Last time I was here, I saw some Buddhist monks. If it's good enough for the monks, it's good enough for me.
Pros: Noodle dishes
