Best

All I gotta say is Santa Fe Frittata! An open faced omelet with chorizo, roasted pastilla chilies, grilled onions, diced tomato, tortilla chips & jack cheese, topped with ranchero...

Worst

not the worst 24 hour joint i've ever been to. Pros: always open, friendly service Cons: careless cooks, slow service

Thai Cobb 2/6/2010

Good iner food, but the best thing on the menu by a long shot is the Thai Cobb. I drive across town just to eat it. more

Fred 62! 3/31/2006

I just love Fred 62! Fred 62 has got to be one of my most favorite places in the L.A./Silverlake-ish area. It's really convenient because they open 24 hours a day and every single day of the year! That's right, they open on New Years, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc! They have an indoors area and an outdoors area so you could choose whichever you prefer. Fred 62 has the whole cool retro diner feel going on. Their food and shakes are great and it's a great hangout and a great place to get some lunch or dinner! Bring your friends, they'll love it! more

Hipster's Delight 1/16/2006

This well-frequented Los Feliz Village diner does an impression of "kitschy" good enough to draw local hipsters (and the occasional celebrity), but I think the fried Macaroni and Cheese Balls are what keep 'em coming back for more. The super-cute waitresses in fishnets and unusual artwork don't hurt either. Open late with great people-watching seats available. more

Trendy 24 Hour Diner 11/29/2005

I always find myself at Fred 62 after hitting a show or club with some friends late at night when everyone's getting hungry. The place is really fun with all kinds of random things to catch your eye. In fact, make sure to look up when your in the restroom. The menu is awesome, including their homemade pop tarts they call "punk tarts." There's also some really good vegetarian options on there as well. They're definitely what I'd expect from a trendy diner like this. Do be prepared for a short wait if you're coming along with the usual late night crowds. more

What is the theme?! 11/24/2005

When you walk into Fred 62's your first thought may be "what is the theme?" The booths look like car seats, the walls feature paintings of outdoor landscapes with nonsensical phases, and the staff wear shirts reading "I'm Fred." To accompany the funky decor are equally eclectic staff members and patrons. No doubt Fred 62's is an LA hot spot for hipsters not just from Los Feliz but from all corners of the city. Being that Fred's is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks, and 365 days a year, it wouldn't be a surprise to go there for a late night brownie sundae or hippy sandwich and see someone famous, no guarantees, just personal experience. more
