I thought it was such a nice, cozy lil' wine bar. It is great if you are out on a date. I liked the wines they offered for the wine tasting and not expensive. We were well informed about the wines and thought it was a great experience. It is a bit small, but since a lot of people don't know about it....makes the size just about right. I live in Silver Lake so I'm not too far from 55 Degree wine bar. I stopped in on my way home from work and had a lady give me lots of information about wines, gave me suggestions (since I said I wanted to try something new, good and inexpensive), and told me all about their wine tasting events. I was quite impressed with the service, wines and the beautiful store. The underground cellar where they conduct the wine tastings is a place that I intend to visit in the very near future. Just saw their July offer. If that's not an incentive, I don't know what is!!! Pros: Employees expertise with regards to wine

As soon as you walk down the stairs and enter this special place it feels like you are in another place in another city. There's no place like this in all of Los Angeles. It's amazing how one minute you can be in a wine shop and then simply by walking down the stairs you are transported to a dimly lit, european feeling, wine bar that can is just so cozy and so romantic. It is a perfect spot for having a glass or two of wine before going to dinner for a special occasion, or for going with a group of girlfriends for a night of catching up, or meeting someone new for the first time. Great date spot....make sure to ask Traci about the wine selection. if it's silent - ask them to put some music on - they'l do it and it will make for an even better atmosphere. Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great wines, Great service Cons: it can be a little chilly - bring a wrap or jacket
