This is a great lunch spot. The staff are extremely friendly, the intimate interior is a great contrast to the outside, and the sushi is out of this world (their crunchy spicy tuna is the best), the price is awesome for Hollywood, and the entertainment factor of probably getting picked up by a tranny going in or out of the place are pretty good. Win win my friends.
Pros: Sushi, Staff, Interior Decor, Ambience
Cons: Parking and Trannys

Tucked away at a random strip mall in WLA/Santa Monica sits Anju Sushi. This is a hidden gem on the westside. You wouldn't think it was anything special from the first steps passed the front door. But once you see the cute/cozy/modern decor and taste the food, you know it's outrageous! The service is very personal, the sushi is fresh and yummy, and the desserts are extremely tasty and creative. The restrooms are beautiful and modern/ plenty of parking/ and friendly and helpful staff. Love this place!
Pros: sushi, not too crowded, green tea creme brulee
Cons: none

I am very critical when it comes to sushi. I have tried the best as well as the worst. Sushi restaurants have become so common now that they all seem to be the same to me. It's quite difficult to please me in regards to eating out since I am so paranoid when it comes to cleanliness and preparation of food, especially something raw. I am also such a sushi fiend and En sushi most certainly amazed me. Their service was right on and their sushi was so fresh and yummy. It practically melts in your mouth. Wonderful atmosphere, and more importantly they are very clean. You can feel the cleanliness immediately upon entering the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant, trust me, you'll like it.
Pros: service, food, prices
Cons: NONE!

Ok....I can't believe anyone would write a bad review of this place. Clearly you've never had the Bora Bora roll!!
It's probably the best roll I ever had in my life. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Spicy tuna and scallops(you can get it without scallops) in the center, no rice and wrapped with fresh avacado and tuna sashimi on top. With a nice little side salad with great tasting sauce. If you are a spicy tuna lover like me go and get the bora bora roll and you will not be dissapointed. BTW ...eventhough there's no rice, it's extremely filling. I've gotten that roll and a miso soup and it was a perfect lunch!!
Pros: bora bora roll
Cons: slow service at times but always friendly

I am a sushi fanatic and have tried many sushi restaurants in L.A.. I recommend their rolls which are very very good. They have the usual dragon roll, hawaiian roll, etc.. but they are all very very fresh and tasty. They have a good variety and good presentations of their food. The nigiri sushi are pre-sliced and are ok and not my favorite but others in my party liked them. I guess it's up to the indiviual taste but I'd be surprised if the nigiri was even edible at this low price so again pleasantly surprised.
Pros: Great value and fresh yummy rolls.
Cons: pre-sliced fish for nigiri sushi.

I typically think it's a waste to go for Japanese and not eat mounds of sushi. Terried has made me open my eyes. A total hole in the wall (which I love) this place churns out some of the tastiest treats this side of the Pacific. Nothing is better than picking out a bunch of dishes and sharing them (some of my favs are the baby squid, yakisoba, sauteed spinach, chicken livers if they have them...too many greats to list here). AND the sushi is great (the albacore is TO DIE FOR). Don't judge this place by it's looks, it may not be the fanciest restaurant on the West side, but it is one of the best.

This is some of the best sushi I have ever had... really very delicious and fresh. They had a large selection of specialty rolls, some creative, some good old favorites. The baked cod, though, is really the highlight and not that expensive. It has a slightly sweet taste and really melts in oyur mouth. The service was great, very attentive, and free of the typical Los Angeles attitude that you can experience in many restaurants. The ambience is very nice and with a group of girls, we had a great time. Definitely try this place and make sure to order the baked cod... you won't be disappointed!
Pros: Baked cod, sushi, drinks, service, ambience
Cons: Parking, though the lot next door is easy and cheap

5 stars... not because it's the best sushi in town, because it's the ABSOLUTE BEST at what they are trying to be: A friendly neighborhood sushi spot with amazingly fresh fish, friendly and attentive staff, nice simple decor, and FANTASTIC prices! As much as I love having this spot as my little secret, it is simply too good NOT to praise. I'll eat there at least once a week as long as I live in the wood
Pros: Fresh fish, great prices, great service, parking
Cons: Not a huge variety of rolls

I am a shabu-shabu fan and this one is the top! Kobe beef sliced very thin so you can cook it in the soup while holding it in your chopsticks. Then you dip it in their sauce that dances on your tongue. I tend to go for the King Crab legs/ Kobe beef combo. The dinner is served in courses. I have like everything, even when I had no idea what it was I was eating.
Service is great, even for the non Japanese diner. The place is tiny, so go early or call in a reservation.
Highly recommended, good parking lot.
