This obscure little restaurant on Lincoln goes unnoticed mostly. We had a farewell lunch for someone at work and group of more than 30 people landed up at Alejo's. The service was great and food was served in generous portions. We had pre-ordered our food and they did not mess up any of the orders though it was for a large group. Attentive waiters filled up the bread basket as soon as it got empty and they have a great variety to choose from. A must try Italian place.

Determined to escape my four-day, extended law student seminar at a hyper-expensive LAX big-box hotel, I consulted the concierge for a local Italian recommendation.
"You know, something local? Nearby? Not Olive Garden?"
I just got a blank stare as she snapped her gum. "There's Mangy-something down in the Marina? Marina Del Rey?" Like I'm suppose to know that already.
CITY SEARCH came up with Alejo's on Lincoln in Westchester, just beyond a stone's throw from the airport and only $10 in cab fare from Century Blvd. As the other reviews here stated, noting fancy in terms of decor or atmosphere, busy and crowded, but honest, well prepared food served quickly and competently. And yes, the garlic oil and fresh bread are terrific.
While veal may be un-p.c., I happen to like it. A lot. And while it wasn't Provimi, the veal parm I had last night at Alejo's is praise-worthy. An honest-to-god, ample cutlet (not ground), at least 8 ounces, well-pounded, lightly breaded, light on the mozzerel. It was accompanied with a generous, steaming mound of perfectly cooked (al dente) and sauced spaghetti. Buono gusto!
At $13.95, a real deal for real veal. The downside was the pricey chianti classico ($6.95 per glass) that came in a tiny, 3.5 oz glass as brimming full. Would recommend a half-bottle or more for next time.
Next time? If I don't pass the bar this time, I'll be back for another seminar here at Soulless Central but at least I'll have Alejo's to look forward to.
Pros: Cost, service, food prep
Cons: Noisy, crowded

I absolutely adore this restaurant, very cozy and yet full of life.
The menu is simply spectacular, very fun to read. Still have the taste of their Bigoli in my mouth.
Now, I was informed, that they starting a spec promotion every Tuesday with 6 wines by the glass at $ 5, beers at $ 4 and their grilled crisp pizza at $ 5 .
What a steal!
Can t wait to go there this Tuesday

I've been to this place quite a few times as it's almost within walking distance from my house. I'll have to say I've never had a bad experience. The service is SUPER friendly and the food is always consistently good. It seems to not be all that crowded when I've been there which is a shame because everything about it is a pleasant dining experience. We brought a bottle of very nice champagne to celebrate a birthday and the waiter was so sweet, he waived the corkage. The lamb chops were to DIE for!!!

For all of you localvores and organic lovers this place is for you. For the rest of us who like great food - Andiamo is the spot as well.
On my visit to LA, I was yearning for some local flare, so I chose Andiamo (ranked #1 by editors on Citysearch). I figured this would be as good as I could get b/c Cali pizza is very different from NYC which I'm used to. I was somewhat surprised by its location in the strip mall (after all I'm not that familiar with the Silver Lake area), but inside feels like a cute little get away.
Billy, the owner, was behind the counter and greeted me immediately. He took me through the menu and upon asking suggested some of his favorites. I ordered the Signore Roberto (named after his son) - a pizza with 4 different meats, olives, mozzerella, and fresh herbs.
The pizza itself is hard to explain. It was light, yet filling. Andiamo definitely did not skimp on the meat or cheese as I could taste all of the different flavors in each bite. I've never had pizza soooooooo good and not heavy.
I'll definitely return when I come back to the area.
Pros: Pizza, Service, Value
Cons: None

First of all, this is an Osteria - it's not the Rex and it isn't Melisse. Second, the food is consistently marvelous. In my years of going to Angelini's, only once have had a meal that was not excellent. For example, my last meal started with a so-so sushi appetizer (how excited can one get about raw fish?), then launched into a series of delicious courses: foie gras with fava beans and spatzle; squid ink gnocchi with lobster and cherry tomatoes, filet mignon with a parmesean cream sauce and kale; sepia with a little frisee and porcini; pizza with gorgonzola dolce and porcini.
Anyone can have a bad experience anywhere. Call ahead - tell them you want the chef to choose some number of courses to try and let them cook. Tell them directly if you are not crazy about something; my guess, you will have at least two courses that will be best in class.
Pros: Consistently as good as food gets
Cons: Location and environment

These brothers, the owners, are really fantastic! The atmosphere is warm, the food delicious and the wine is superb! The ravioli was cooked perfectly and my husband's veal was out of this world. Then we had dessert -tiramisu-and it was so light and delicious I had to order some to go for my daughter's 25 birthday party. They cater, as well. If you have the dinners here you will want them to cater all your parties! I am a huge fan of Angolo Divino and I'm so happy they are just around the corner from my home. Bravo to an excellent Italian Restaurant in West LA!
Pros: Delicious Food, Great Service, Great Desserts

I love this place. The red booths and waiters are old school and awesome. The pizza is the best in the world. Order thin crust with green olives, black olives and mushrooms. The carafe of house wine is a deal for $18.00. Ignore the negative reviews...they're haters. 2 hour free parking down the street in the residential area. The pizza is expensive but well worth the money because it is incredible. If you can't afford to eat out stay at home and quit complaining. This place rocks.
Pros: pizza, atmosphere, parking, waiters
Cons: none
