Went here and although I wouldn't necessarily swing the $450 a night, this place really is out of control--like in a crazy, outlandish like-nothing-else sort of way. Of course, it's got the Philippe Starck imprint everywhere--clear glass deer heads, his Flos gold rifle and bigass horse lamps, a million different kinds of priceless chairs, funny anochronistic paintings--so it maintains that tacky-tasteful balance. (Often leaning a bit on the tacky side.) Anyway, the rooms are gorgeous with faux fur throws and Mies van de Rohe-like seats and mirror/TV screens and even the stationary is custom-made with that cute little monkey emblem. BOth the private and public dining areas are very cool and there's so much to see it would take all day just to soak it all in (love those weird voodoo-like doll heads at Moss and the black pig table at the pool). Food is pretty subpar, but the scenery is really worth checking out.
Pros: magically outrageous
Cons: it's gonna cost you!

It may look like a dump from the outside, but the inside of the place is really nice it has nice lounge area and a bar area. It is always packed, drinks are on the average, fair prices on every drink. It is a nice place to meet new people or to meet with friends. Jukebox is available, and like all bars in California it closes at 2pm.

Very nice Shiatsu style massage, calm interior, nice staff. I save parking expense by heading to a nail salon, Nail Service, which is only a few feet away for another 80 minutes treatment on hands and feet and get validation for free parking at Kajima building on San Pedro street.
Pros: nice massage, nice staff
Cons: no parking validation

Stayed here one night in the executive 2-queen with 5 friends in early December 2006. You can tell the hotel used to be an apartment/housing building when you drive up. Area does not seem that sketchy, I felt safe enough staying here & leaving my car parked outside in the lot. Employees were very helpful & courteous; excellent service. Good location - literally just a few steps to the Kodak Theatre & mall, and the Walk of Fame. Parking is very limited, you have to park in the back in a cramped lot, if spaces are available. Rooms were very spacious, a little older & worn out, but everything looked clean. Not sure about the celebrity wallage - it kind of made the room a little creepy looking. Beds were clean & okay. Bathroom was older & dingy, but seemed clean. Internet in room was available. Dining area was convenient. Free continental breakfast included coffee, juice, croissants, bagels, and a few other items. Good for the budget traveler. Would stay here again.
Pros: Service, Parking, Location
Cons: Parking is cramped, rooms are little older

I stayed in the Hotel Angeleno this past July and It was simply Spectacular The hotel is beautiful, the layout and design is very sheek; The staff were all wonderful and provided excellent service at all times, and always eager to provide service with a smile. The prices are excellent for the location and atmosphere. The hotel is not far from Venice Beach and Santa Monica. If you want to vacation and be treated like royalty, Hotel Angeleno is the place to be!!

I recently stayed at this cute hotel. The reason I chose this hotel was the location and affordability. The staff were very friendly and nice. The lobby is nicely decorated, so I was expecting the same kind of decorations in the guest room. I had a very small room (which was ok), but the furniture was not as nice as the lobby. Also the window treatments scream for serious attention. The blinds were old and half broken, and the lace curtain over that did not block any light at all.
The court yard is very cute and romantic. The continental breakfast is by far better than the chain hotels. And for a small fee ($3) they make eggs (any style) and bacon. Overall it was a good value for the location. You would run into a lot of europeans in this hotel.
Pros: Location, Friendly Staff
Cons: Needs updates
