We decided on Custom Hotel to host our Friday night rehearsal dinner for about 55 of our out-of-town guests - families and friends who flew in for our wedding on Saturday.
The event turned out spectacular. We had apps, drinks & dinner at the Bistrotek, complete with hors d'oeuvres, wine & beer, the main course, and dessert...then went back to the Hopscotch to drink & relax.
The experience was awesome, and we would do it again at Custom with zero hesitation. We got rave reviews from our families and friends. Everyone loved the ambiance - my stepsister says she's hoping to find a place just like that for her wedding in NC (or somewhere). Everyone loved the food (one of our toughest customers - my now-wife's cousin - a tough customer - said it was "the best chicken he'd ever had," and a lot of other people said similar things. The waiters/waitresses/bartenders were of the highest caliber and were just plain awesome. Tammi and Lorena, who set up the deal with us & helped set the whole thing up, took excellent care of us - they were incredibly professional, were there at the actual event, and knowing they were watching over everything just helped drive home the knowledge that we were in really good hands. Even the guys who helped us get our music working beforehand were super-cool and helpful. The budget really worked out well for us. Even the kids - age 2-6 - loved hanging out in the room we booked (watching "The Incredibles"). As my 6-year-old niece put it, "This is toootally awesome!!"
The only blip the whole evening was a mixup with the valets - we wanted to cover our guests' valet charges, & that didn't wind up happening - but in the grand scheme of things, that was really minor.
Overall, our friends & family had an incredible time, we were blown away by how well everything worked out & what a stellar experience it was. Custom (and especially Tammi) really came through for us, and it was a night we'll have warm, glowing memories of for a really long time.
Pros: Awesome experience for our wedding rehearsal dinner

This hotel was remodeled a few years ago. Very contemporary, very upscale and chic furniture. I absolutely love and highly recommend the pool area. The service and the staff is great at the pool, along with the food. The newly improved Trader Vics' bar is also quite an attraction. Don't be surprised if you see a celebrity frolicking in the water.
Pros: Classy, High end
Cons: Expensive

We entered this hotel and was in awe of the beauty and size of this property. Valet was efficient and fast. We stopped by the lounge to have a cocktail and the lounge and staff was very friendly. We had plans to attend a party that evening, getting into a cab that accomodated 4 of us had us concerned but the staff found us on within minutes of us walking out to the street. We were treated with the utmost respect and with courteous faces. We recommend this hotel highly.
Pros: Spacious suites
Cons: Finding a parking to check in was a challenge.

The atmosphere here is very Japanese, and the food is really good. I couldn't say enough about the service. The waitresses serve your bento box lunch or sushi ion beautiful laquered dishes, while dressed in traditional Japanese Obis and wooden sandals.
Parties of 4 or more may reserve a private tatami room (for a romantic meal reserve the room for 4, and say 2 dropped out at the last minute when you get there).
Don't miss the rooftop Japanese garden.
Expensive and worth it.

I generally don't like staying too near the airport, but I now make it a point to stay at the Renaissance Montura when I am in Los Angeles (usually a couple of times a month). The staff is exceptionally courteous and helpful and will go out of their way to accomodate their guests, whether you request early check-in, message service, extra towels..you name it, if they can, they will do it.
The bar is a wondeful, relaxing place, also with great staff. It doesn't have the hotel bar atmosphere one expects. The restaurant is also exceptional, though a bit on the pricey side. Room service is also a bit steep, but service is excellent and much quicker than in many hotels.
There is not a bad room in the place. Even the deluxe rooms are well-appointed and the beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever encountered. The only issue I had was that the high-speed internet in the rooms isn't really as high-speed as I would like, but the internet connections in the Business Center in the lobby are lightening-fast (and at 49 cents per minute, should be). Parking is also a bit steep, as on my last stay, Valet was $23.00 a day (with in and out privileges), but well worth it, as they are fast and efficient.
Though close to the airport, you do not really notice the noise, which is actually unusual for a hotel so close.
Though not within walking distance, there are numerous great places to dine within a short driving distance. The only thing within walking distance is Burger King.
Overall, I highly recommend the Renaissance Montura. The staff alone makes you want to come back.
Pros: GREAT STAFF, COMFORTABLE AND LUXURIOUS
Cons: TV service iffy, room service very expensive.
