Whether you are like to eat in an outdoor environment, shop for trinkets, buy farmers market produce or meats, or stop by a non-pretentious newsstand, the Farmers Market is the place to be. My favorite stand there has to be Littlejohn's Toffee. I usually end up making several stops at that stand over the holiday season, as their toffee is a staple in my gift-giving. With all of the 'health food' in Los Angeles, it is just fantastic to still have a place where you can buy a large burger and fries. Or a big, juicy piece of roast beef. There are also several open bars, places to buy wine and cheese, a wonderful middle eastern restaurant, and great little stands with many little gifts to buy. If you are looking for the place in the middle of Los Angeles without the glamour and pretense, the Farmers Market is the place to be.

I recently went to Farmer's Market after having a meeting in the area. On 3rd and Fairfax, Farmer's Market is a very good place to get authentic foods from all over the world. They have cheap pizzas, sanwiches, and other foods that I can't even name. They have toy stores, book stores, california postcards - a true mecca of culture. They is a nearby produce store, and theather - I don't think theres anything here that you can't find. If you are in the area, then you should definitely visit this place, if only to browse, because you will definitely leave with something.

I am fortunate to live within walking distance of LA's best place to meet people and have lots to do. Many place to have coffee or a smoothie. Outstanding choice of prepared foods--deli, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Kosher, Mexican, Cajun, Johnny Rockets, etc. There are candy places, nut stands, and of course terrific fresh produce at excellent prices. Also, a couple of magazine stands, a toy store, Bath and Body Works, Sur la Table, Cost Plus World Market, etc. There are many places to sit inside or outside. In addition to this, of course, it adjoins the Grove, a terrific and popular outdoor mall with shops, restaurants, a large Barnes and Noble, and a multiplex cinema. The best thing about the market, though, is the good selection and quality of different regional prepared foods. I am especially a fan of the corned beef at Magee's deli. It's one of only two place in LA that I've ever found that approach the joy of a real NY corned beef sandwich. Hand sliced so it's thick and juicy--it's a great sandwich. Also, you can have a meal at any of these Farmer's Market places without breaking the bank. Enjoy!

The Farmers Market in Los Angeles is a great way to spend a day. It is filled with all kinds of different cuisines. Whatever you want, they will be sure to have it. It also has lots of produce stands and little shops. The hot sauce store is jam packed with every kind of hot sauce you could want. I love to explore the Farmers Market and find a new favorite food. Take your time here, there is lots to see.

If visiting or living in Los Angeles a trip to the LA Farmers' Market on 3rd and Fairfax is an incredible way to spend the afternoon or evening. It boasts many little, one of a kind, food stands offering delicious and authentic food from all parts of the world - the Middle East, New Orleans, Korea, French (awesome crepes), Mexican, etc. Also, the market has some great butchers (the long one on the East end is great and has pretty good prices), candies and treats (the ice cream always is so fragrant), and great produce. Also, in season produce is always priced better than any other chain market around. Check ahead if the Farmers' Market is having any special performances (during the summer they often do night musical performances that make the evening even more fun). Finally, the market is located right next to the Grove - a nice compliment to the market. The Grove has many big chain shops - clothing including Banana Republic and Lucky Jeans and other shops including an Apple Store and a huge Barnes and Nobles - as well as a nice movie theatre. It also is just a nice walk around the beautiful fountains or neat old trolley that rolls up and down the Grove. Overall, it is a fun day trip for all.

The original Farmer's Market is one of those places you have to take tourists to experience Los Angeles. Whether you have a warm French crepe test the Colon-cleansing hot sauces, or have some Korean BBQ, you can be sure to experience an LA classic. Since the Grove has opened, it seems to have attracted even more folks, but I guess you can experience the old world and the new world while your car is parked in the same spot! Everyone can find something they like at the Farmer's Market, you just have to keep walking through the maze of goodies.

Farmer's Market is a great place to go with your grandmother, a date, out of town friends, whoever and whenever--it's timeless. There's so many different types of food to choose from, you're bound to find something you like, whether it's crepes at the French place, cajun food, BBQ--they've got everything. Grab a table and watch the throngs of tourists and longtime local patrons. Or just shop for produce, candy or souvineers.
