Wow! Better than I've had in Japan and that's where the fish is coming from. How's that possible?
Started with the King Crab Sunomono appetizer is fantastic it had the sea salt flavor from the sea.
Their uni is so sweet and fresh. Love their live sweet shrimp. Most times I get the heads fried like popcorn shrimp. Their spanish mackerel is soooooo good with grated ginger and ponzu sauce.
It's on par if not better with the best sushi bars on westside which I normally pay $100+ pp at 70-80% of the price.
The owner, Tomoko dressed in blue is super friendly and is knowledgeable about food.
Pros: Fish Selection, Super Fresh Fish, Authentic
Cons: Didn't know about it earlier.

I've been coming to EK for a couple of years already and everything is fantastic; from the Bollywood on the big screen to the always fresh and delicious food, to the extremely friendly owner Pama who will even keep you company if you are dining alone, to the authentic and over the top decor and ambiance. Then of course there is Kate... the hostess who is simply glowing; the friendliest person ever and who masterfully interacts with both guests and kitchen to make sure that every dish is prepared to your personal satisfaction and that the experience is overwhelmingly positive. EK makes for an exotic and always enjoyable evening.
Pros: Ambiance, Attitude, and of Course; the Food.
Cons: drawbacks? :) maybe just one...

I lived in Japan for 14 years, and almost gave up that there is no Sushi that came close to what I use to eat in Japan. Many Sushi place ran by Korean people here in SoCal. (I'm not being racst, i'm Korean) But Sushi men at Korean owned Sushi place don't really know how to make real sushi, unless they went Japan to be trained. In Japan, minimum length of training to be a Sushi men is 3 years. 1st year they don't even allow you to touch rice. But here...Sushi men starts working right away without any proper training.(i know it because two of my friends are in this business). Some generous person treated me to this Sushi Gen last year, and me and my friend ordered almost all the sushi at Sushi Gen. And Boy~! This is closest I have had worthy to call it Sushi. This generous gentlemen treated me and my friends (12 of us) and came out to be $750 (including $120 tips..he was very generous). So yea, don't know if I can go there again due to it's price...but definitely great Sushi. Oh I do have to say that just because Sushi place is ran by Japanese owner and Japanese Sushi Men does not mean they are great Sushi. If you happen to stop by San Francisco, never go to Tsunami (number 1 Sushi in San Francisco by CitySearch). Although it is owned by Japanese people and Japanese Sushi Men...these Sushi men definitely never had any training. I got so mad that they sell those awful things as Sushi. Anyway...just couldn't help but say this everywhere on City Search.
Pros: Best Sushi close to Real Japanese Sushi so far (i have tried many many places)
Cons: Wish it was more affordable

Last night was our first time at Cliff's Edge; it has been recommended to us by several friends. My husband and I love to try new restaurants, especially in our new neighborhood. This one exceeded our expectations. We were seated at an indoor table, close to the bar area, which looks like a great place for just drinks. The room had low lighting, but you could still easily read menus without needing a flashlight. The "bench" seats along the walls have really comfortable, long pillows on them. Although the tables are somewhat close together, the acoustics were ideal -- the soft background music added a white-noise effect so you didn't feel like you were intruding on your table neighbors' conversations. The wait staff was very attentive. Our waiter brought bread, dipping oil and water as soon as we were seated and took our drink orders. While perusing the menu, another waitress came by and told us our waiter was also tending to a large group, so she could take our order if we were ready before the waiter returned. We started with an order of french fries and gorgonzola dipping sauce. The fries were thin, crisp, and lightly salted. The gorgonzola was a pleasant change from the typical ketchup. My husband ordered the pork loin medallions, which came with greens and some other vegetables. I ordered the halibut special, which was pan seared, and accompanied by broccolini and squash, and a lovely saffron sauce. The food was incredibly fresh, and the seasonings complemented the food, versus overwhelming it. The portions were perfect, and we each cleaned our plates and were comfortably full. We each had an after-dinner drink. The bill was $116, including an 18% tip, which by Los Angeles standards is a good value considering everything was top-notch. We look forward to go back again, and bringing friends and family when they visit us.

The food is amazing. Every dish I've ever had was either very good or simply mouth watering, especially the filet mignon (about $22). I've had steaks for three times the price that are not as good as the filet. The deserts are simply scrumptous, especially the fruit tarts (about $6). I would come here if the prices were twice what they are.
The atmosphere is simple and unprententious. You feel like you've escaped to some small out of the way Parisian cafe. The service is "slow": if you want to eat and run, you'll feel stressed. In Europe (and Cafe B.) the idea is to relax, enjoy a course, and then have a few minutes to chat before the next course arrives. My wife and I typically spend 1 1/2 to 2 hours for a dinner there, which is perfect for us.
Cafe B. is my favorite restaurant. I have been there maybe 15 times since discovering it a couple of years ago. I would be happy to come every week. It has become a favorite for anyone we've ever brought with us. I always look forward to going there and I am always quite content by the end of my visit.
In short: I come for the amazing food, but the ambience and the interactions with the waiters add to the enjoyment of the experience. Just don't come if you're in a hurry.

This palce is the best secret in hollywood. The menu is full of the hearty french dished that have prevailed through gererations. With big, well presented, specials. You are sure to get your fill. The dining room is a candle light opera with a charming, bohemia feel. with the seats more like couches you could stay here all night.
The Bar area is a wonder of french style. You well be taken back buy the original light fixtures, huge wall meriors, and zinc top bar. All shipped from Paris. It?s so beautiful that it has attracted such Hollywood greats as Penelope Cruz, and Madonna for photo shoots. ( Their is also outside seating if you smoke )
They offer a cheep happy hour from 5 to 7 everyday. You could easily get your fill for less than ten dollar with their mini martini's, and escargot. The bartender Wally is rather charismatic and likes his Jazz so be sure to say hello.
All in all this is just a cute little place, with a lot a charm. The service is wonderful, you can even brush up on your french with half the staff speaking it. I would take a date here, or just go and hang out with a bottle of champagne.
Pros: food, staff, bar, music
Cons: outside seating can fill quickly
