Gardens of Taxco is a great meal at a great price. There is no menu, so it's as easy as it can get. First you get vegetables and chips (of course), followed by a small quesadilla, then an enchilada, then your main course with rice beans and tortillas, and at the end with a dessert and a glass of sherry. By the way we got a pitcher of a great margharitta as well. Our bill came to $66. Go and enjoy!
Pros: Fun, Unique, Price
Cons: Cheesy

A friend's brother brought me here for brunch one lazy Sunday and I proceeded to come back for the next four days, bringing a different friend each time. I am completely hooked on their salads, steak sandwich, granola & fruit ....but then again, I haven't tried a single thing on the menu that wasn't orgasmically delicious. Speaking of orgasmic...their staff is hands down one of the best-looking groups in LA and so friendly. And the vibe of the place is to die for. At night it's even candlelit! Come here and bring a friend...you may have to wait a little bit, but it's worth it!
one last thing...i love the cupcakes...so fresh so yummy
Pros: food...staff...people watching
Cons: parking

Thai food is my favorite and after being in Thailand, most places don't compare. Hands down I consistently get the best Thai food here. Their noodles are always perfectly cooked. The curries are delicious as well as the fun appetizers. If I crave Thai, I have to go out of my way to get it from rambutan or I am not satisfied. They have a fun drink menu too.
Pros: the food, the drinks, consistently delicious
Cons: the parking lot is small

Went with a friend based on reviews at this website. Was satisfied with almost everything. Very friendly, young and pretty female waitresses ushered us to our table. It was a candle-lit. Very good ambience with tiny thai autorikshaw models and pictures on the walls.
We ordered a sea food (trout) and a from the wok dish with red rice. I can vouch for its taste. Pricing was very reasonable. Ended up spending around 30$ between 2 of us.
Parking available on a side-street, but could be difficult at busier times of the day.

Once you walk in Literati it feels like you are anywhere but on wilshire. There is such a cozy atmosphere, and great bookish feel to the whole place that you can't resist staying for a while. Their sandwiches and tea are definitely where it's at. I would definitely recommend it as a place to study, or grab lunch, or both. The staff is always friendly and the food is generally pretty cost effective too. I really can't say anything bad about this place. If you're looking for a quiet place to study/get lunch. This is it.

I had some friends in from out of town today and made sure to put Grub on our late morning itinerary. As always, I came out looking like a superstar because everyone loved it and had a great time.Food is always good...server's are always smiling and the ambiance always makes me feel like I've left L.A. for a bit.
The reason I'm writing is that my server mentioned that they won the Best Breakfast award on CitySearch so it prompted me to check it out.
I was a little blown away by seeing the previous comment where an obviously dissatisfied customer tossed out some pretty strong accusations. Now I know that in a public forum everyone is free to say whatever they want but from my perspective I have a pretty hard time believing ANYONE at Grub would be overtly rude. And as far as being discriminatory I don't think that's in the realm of reality.
I've been to Grub probably 30 or 40 times over the past few years and as one who has personally felt the hand of race discrimination I can't imagine that ever taking place at Grub. Now I know this is a restaurant site and discrimination probably isn't the general topic of conversation but for people to toss that out there without anything to back it up is pretty lame. My guess? A competitor trying to take the winds out of the sails of a very cool spot. I met a guy at a party once who bragged that he would leave bad reviews on Yelp and other sites just to hurt his competitors business. Not cool.
So trust me on this one. Grub rocks. :)

We have lived by Buddha's Belly for three years and had never been in--primarily because I was concerned that my husband, who has a pepper allergy, couldn't survive a place sure to have bell peppers and chili sauce out the yin-yang. However, returning home from a long day at work yesterday, he suggested (to my surprise) we try it out.
It was 9:30 pm on a Thursday and we had our 11-year-old in tow (hey, it's still summer vacation!) and we got seated in a booth right away. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded, and the music was definitely not overloud (I noticed someone else said the music was too loud--maybe that's just on the weekend?).
Well, long story short (too late, right?), the wait staff was extremely attentive about my hubby's allergy. They seemed to know most everything in each dish we asked about, and were quick to insist on double-checking with the kitchen for things that they were even a little unsure about. Very refreshing in a city chock full of wannabe actor/waiters who think "allergy" means "dislike." (We once asked a waiter at PF Chang's why my husband's meal came with bell pepper spirals on top of it, and he said, "Oh, it's fine--it's just a garnish.")
Anyway, hubby ordered three generous appetizers (Har gow, simple and super good; chicken lettuce cups, very yummy; and rock shrimp tempura, excellent). My son and I got to order spicy food for a nice change of pace (we basically never go out to Thai or Mexican places because of the allergy). We all enjoyed our food very much and had a really great service experience.
To those complaining that this is not "authentic" Asian food, I would say Buddha's Belly doesn't really sell itself as such. It's kind of like complaining that an action movie wasn't "serious" enough. It's tasty food, nice ambience, and attentive wait staff. For us, that made a great Thursday night dinner.
Pros: Great service, yummy food, allergy conscious
Cons: Valet-only parking ($5), can be very busy at times
