Intimate Silver Lake theater boasts a lovely café patio. Melissa Gage on
09-02-2009
This inviting spot is equal parts café, coffee shop and theater. Classes and performances take place in a theater that seats around 60, but the café/coffee shop is a draw in and of itself. Inside the stylish, narrow cafe, a few tables are scattered on black-and-white tiled floors. Quiches, tortes and organic red velvet cupcakes, pumpkin bread and lemon-blueberry loaves tempt from behind a large glass display case that dominates the space. On sunny days, the choice seats are on a spacious front deck with several umbrella-shaded tables. On the menu, sandwiches like a caprese baguette or melted brie with clover honey butter, green apple and toasted almonds, will set you back less than $7. There are also salads and a few breakfast items that are served all day. Brunch is served on weekends.

This cozy indoor/outdoor cafe is where locals (and theatergoers) stop for a quick bite.
