I took guitar lessons here. My instructor was knowledgeable and assessed my abilities well. He then went on to teach me according to what I wanted to learn in terms of style and skills. I always felt comfortable and like I was progressing from lesson to lesson. I highly recommend this school to anyone thinking about music lessons or continuing their music education. I've learned a tremendous amount in areas covering technique, improvisation, scales, music theory, songwriting, and live performance. I have gotten to kow most of the instructors and staff. They have always been curteous and professional while maintaining a "fun" atmosphere. The lesson prices are reasonable and competitive and the schedules are flexible enough to fit many different lifestyles. Hollywood Academy of Music stands out among other schools and makes you feel like you are part of their musical family. Pros: Instructor knowledge, price, family atmosphere Cons: Location if you don't live in the area, parking and traffic can be difficult at times

The instruction I've received there has been truly first rate: my teacher always keeps the lessons fresh, challenging and inspirational...imparting his own knowledge while still tailoring the program to accommodate my specific interests. I've actually been quite impressed with the dedication of the entire staff; they really care about the students' progress, and are clearly passionate about the work they do.
