It was a girls night out. My friends and I picked this place because 2 of them had been here before and the rest of us hadn't so. They said it was fun and when they mentioned the upstairs it was already a done deal. We ate down the street at katsuya which was ok. I wish my friends that had been here before told me about the style of food. There is literally something here for anyone no matter what they crave. We looked over the menu and asked the cute bartenders about it who were very helpful. They make great drinks too. The drink list here has stuff ranging from girly types of drinks to stuff that has absynthe in it. Tried that once somewhere and never again. We were so happy with everything we ordered.
Up at kiss lounge the music got kind of loud but it was really fun. They didn't have the same drinks as downstairs but it was still fun anyway. We did retreat to the downstairs bar which was closing but we could escape the packed lounge.
Great time in general and more than you would expect from a place like this
Pros: Everything
Cons: none

So, my friend and I came for trivia night and the place is just so nice. Good food, good drinks and the host, who actually is the owner, comes around to talk to everyone and ensures a good time. This place is a must if you are looking for something casually swanky. Enjoy!!

My girlfriend and I ate at Puran's this past weekend and we're making it our new spot. I had the homemade mini-burger. It was very fresh and, according to our waiter, made to order. The burger was delicious. Then I tried my girlfriend's fish. And that was simply the best I ever had.
Oddly, though, they had this wonderful bread sauce that we tried to get to-go. They refused, saying it was for the restaurant only. Other than that, though....
An open kitchen. A friendly staff. And on the way out, we spoke to Puran, who was very detailed and caring about her food. We'll be back soon.
Pros: Fantastic Food
Cons: An Odd Thing

This was the best crepe and pasta Ive ever had. I wish they were in our town. I have been craving the pasta del a mer ever since I took my first bite. I have tried to re-create it at home but the chef has his own touch. I have yet to master this creation. I will keep trying and someday maybe get the right taste. It was definately worth the drive. I would do it all again. I loved the location so close to the freeway and easy to get to.
Thank you chef Lino you rocked my taste buds!
Someday I hope you will share your secrets in a cook book!
Pros: The taste is amazing! If you love crepes you will love Lulu's
Cons: I would love to eat there more often.

I am lucky enough to work fairly close to the Mustard Seed and I get lunch from there at least once a week, sometimes take out sometimes eating in. I find the service super friendly (a waiter once made me a newspaper sailor hat!) and the food is always exceptional. My favourites are the ahi tacos (best guacamole ever from a non Mexican restaurant) and the turkey patty salad. Yummy! Good cookies, great coffee and always fresh.
The only downside is that it is SO popular I rarely eat there on the weekend due to the long queue. I'd like to be able to share my favourite "healthy diner" with more of my friends.
Pros: fantastic food, neighbourhood feelign, freindly service, outdoor seating, pet friendly
Cons: too popular, street parking can be a challenge on weekends

This place was great! I went with a group of friends, and all of the food was authentic Lebanese/Middle Eastern, and fresh... They have live music and an outdoor patio, great for either a date or large groups. The owner made sure we had a good time, and I will definitely be returning when I'm on that side of town!
Pros: Authentic Middle Eastern Food
Cons: off the beaten track

Great little secret. Hopefully it maintains its cozy, warm atmosphere. Great menu with unique and trendy "comfort food." Best deal for your buck is the fish and chips. Huge portion of white fish and a great beer batter. Have heard the man n cheese is also great. Decent liquor prices as well. They have karaokee every other Saturday. Reasonable priced. Give this place a shot!
Pros: Great menu, easy to get a seat.
Cons: If it's empty it's kinda lonely.

My boyfriend and I are on a mission to find the best eggs in Los Angeles. Of all the places we've been so far, Vienna Cafe is winning, hands down. They have a large, sophisticated selection and if your veg/vegan, the VeggieX is one of the best veggie omelets i've ever eaten. The staff is consistently extremely friendly and helpful. Probably my favorite aspect of the Vienna Cafe experience is the fact that they give you a free loaf of delicious, gourmet bread with your check. Vienna Cafe is well worth the moderate price.
Pros: Great Service, Free Bread, Amazing Food
Cons: Crowds
