I really hate using cliches but 'miracle worker' comes to mind when thinking of Dr. Don. His knowledge of the body is exceptional and after just a few treatments my lower back pain was 75% improved. I cannot express my gratefulness to him for this. The best part (for me) about Dr. Don is the fact that he is an elite athlete - and thus is cognizant of different forms of fitness, the types of activities entailed, the impact on the body, and the proper form of each movement. He actually pulled me into his side gym in his practice just to show me additional things to work on at home - for core strengthening, ankle support, etc. It's his knowledge, passion, and deep empathy for his patients that makes Dr. Don the best. Besides, check out his practice. It's gorgeous - like a retreat and art gallery in one. You are sure to be treated like royalty here - and best of all, cured of your ailment!!

Ten years ago my ankle went haywire on account of arthritis. I was only 32 at the time but was told by an orthopedic surgeon that joint fusion was my best option. A friend called me off that, sent me to her acupuncturist and within two weeks I was walking without a cane. Okay, I figure that's the magic bullet - acupuncture - and when that acupuncturist moved to Arizona I thought anyone else would do. Not so... I have literally spent 8 years trying to find an acupuncturist that could produce the same results ... there are all these "clinics" and "practitioners" that do no good, charge too much, etc. and if I didn't have a great 1st experience, which was a stroke of luck, I would have thought acupuncture was witch-doctor stuff . I had seen Don's shop, Silk Road, in reviews before but always thought it might be another one of these "clinics" or whatever but decided to see him because of the reviews in CitySearch. Turns out, Silk Road is anything but one of these places. Don is a great, smart guy who has put his energy towards healing people and it pays off for everyone. He has set up his practice in a very personal way - there are no associates so you are simply Don's patient. After a couple of sessions with very positive results I was relieved to know I finally had a new phone number to call for this kind of thing. A few months ago I couldn't cross the street without limping, now I can run a couple of miles with no pain. It's not a miracle, just good work by a great practitioner. Don said to me when I first saw him, "give me two or three sessions before you count me out" and that's good advice... give him a couple sessions to see if he can help you - it doesn't cost that much and you both want the same thing - for you to get better. I?m the kind of person who?s always looking for reviews before I get a service or product (even if I never write any). So here is my first review. I went to get treatment for a shoulder pain that?s been bothering for a few months due to playing tennis 10 hours a week. After the first treatment I was most impressed with the level of care and service Don provided. It?s rare to find caregivers so dedicated, he goes the extra mile to provide healing, and this is something you rarely find. I have to admit that I was skeptical about needles and massage fixing my problem, but after 2 sessions only my shoulder is doing great and I?ve been playing without pain for the first time in a few years. So I guess the needles work and I believe the intention and dedication Don puts is what really makes it work. Price was very decent for the amount of care you receive (Don was with me for 2 hours each time). The house is beautiful, very clean and peaceful. Give it a try.

Her two primary goals for me have been starting a yoga routine and opening up my bodies blocked energy and strained areas (lower back/herniated discs) to the healing benefits of Acupuncture. After meeting Don time and again while seeing Sylvia, I felt, if there was a Doctor of Acupuncture that I would be willing to take a chance with, it was certainly going to be him. Don is a very humble, peaceful soul and a Doctor who makes you feel completely comfortable even when you may be out of your comfort zone with different healing methods; for me, one such as Acupuncture. Needless to say, after my very first session with Don, I was hooked. I now truly know that this is a healing and strengthening practice that I will never again be without. It has changed me both physically and spiritually, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate what Don has done, and continues to do for me. I have known Dr.Don Buck for over 2 years. I have been getting acupuncture from him for 2 years. He has the lightest, most healing touch I have experienced. He is a gifted listener and really wants to be sure that his treatment is gently offered and well-received. His office is a calm environment where you begin to relax the moment you walk in. He has treated me for back problems, chemo related side effects and anxiety . The herbs he prescribed for me for chemo related side effect have kept me from going on pharmaceutical medication and helped me regain my energy and appetite again. I cannot say enough about his training and skills and his desire to understand the full picture of what is happening in lives of his patients.

I was definitely an acupuncture cynic -- didn't see how sticking a bunch of needles in my hand would help the excruciating pain of planters fasciitis in my foot. I still don't get how it works, but it worked for me. It wasn't instantaneous, it took several treatments over a short series of time -- but now I'm walking pain free. Doctor Buck was very knowledgeable, and even did some complimentary sessions when a succession of treatments was in order. They really do care about your health and well being, and someone who truly values the patient over the payday...is a refreshing change. Highly, highly recommend. Pros: Tranquil setting, convenient parking in the rear.

I was riddled with pain in both my calf and hip from sporting inuries. Tried regular medical care and physical therapy to no avail. That is, until by referral I went to Dr. Buck's center. After just a couple of treatments, I felt so much better that I was able to re-start my normal activities. Today, all the pain is gone and I am completely back to my regular workouts -- Dr. Buck's knowledge and care along with his professional staff made it all possible. I highly recommend this Center to anybody needing treatment for aches, pains, or injuries. The care given to patients, not to mention the office relaxed and friendly ambiance is just the best. I give it a 10!

my anxiety and digestion issues had been spiraling out of control. within a few treatments i felt back on track and i could feel that my body was functioning at a higher level again. i could also feel that my circulation had improved and i no longer had cold, clammy hands and feet. Dr. Buck is a highly qualified healer and his services are very worthwhile!
