Breakfast costs as much as dinner pretty much which is a bit strange, but this place is just great... for either breakfast or a casual dinner with some wine.

There is no other place like this. Everyone is happy and there to serve you. The food is really good and you get a full meal for your money. I hope it never ends. The last great food place is Nick's.
Pros: One of a kind
Cons: they close at 3pm everyday

It's hard to find 24 hour American restaurant in Los Angeles. Especially around Koreatown. When I feel like grabbing good old American style meal, I always go to Pipers. Food here is AWSOME, prices are moderate, location (Western and Beverley) and parking is good here. Don't munch on Dennys' junk, go to pipers!
Pros: good food, nice atmosphere
Cons: none

The Rumor Mill has great coffee, great food, and a great atmosphere. The prices are decent, not too expensive. They have wireless as well as 4 computers that you can use for free. There are always interesting people there to people watch or interact with. I always try to hit this place up when I am on the westside. They are connected to a laundry mat, so you can do your laundry and relax there.

As a person who loves both meat dishes and vegetarian items a like, the brite spot has become one of my favorite places to eat. They have an endless vegetarian selection plus awesome meaty options like chicken fried steak and meatloaf. I personally love the waffle combo, vegetarian burrito, soup and grilled cheese sandwitch, and their salads. Margaret is the best server!

This is a great place to catch up with a friend. The restaurant offers a wide array of tea to satisfy all kinds of tea lovers. You can order the tea cold as well as hot. Although I enjoy green tea, I enjoy sweet and creamy teas with my scone. I recommend the Phoenix tea which is has a sweet, caramel flavor. Definitely a must-try!

Whether its a fresh pie or pancakes, a burger or sandwuch, this place always delivers. Been going here since I was a kid and the staff is friendly and location is LA old skool. Food is typical coffee shop fare but somehow tastes better here. Take-out whole pies are to die for or enjoy a slice with a cup of joe before or after a movie at the Grove.
Pros: Coffee Shop that still keeps it real

To be honest, I've only ever had their fruit smoothies but I've admired the food of other diners while waiting for my drinks! They make a terrific banana soymilk shake and the patio area outside is very cute. One of these weekends I'm going to go down there for brunch and hang out. The decor inside is very fresh and the staff are really nice.

From the very first time I wandered into Jan's 10 years ago, I was hooked. Their burgers are the best in L.A. bar none. Their soups are also the best in town. The creole rice, vegetable, matzo ball, spinach meatball and clam chowder, to name but a few, are out of this world.
Their daily specials are always excellent and are NOT overpriced considering their location and top quality food. Thei Napoli Delight and Tijuana Delight platters are great. Their potroast is the best in town. The serving portions are huge and tasty. The broasted chicken is done to perfection every time. And let's not forget their fries...again the best to be found and always fried perfectly.
Jan's is not overpriced at all and the food is worth every penny. The staff is courteous, friendly and prompt. You could eat here every day and never get tired of their food as they have such a huge selection on the menu.
Pros: food & service
Cons: none

I love the "Spoon." When Schwab's closed, all the actors moved down to Theodore's cafe (now named Silver Spoon). You can always see some face you recognize. The food is diner fare and the place is owned by a Greek family. They have a separate full bar and outside patio seating. Make sure you ask for Gloria as your waitress...she is a hoot and always has a funny joke or story to relate. Nice big parking lot. Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster is always holding court out on the patio at his corner table. Sally Kirkland is usually table hopping and making a fuss about something or the other. Lots of industry types abound. It's a fun place with good food and Gloria was voted "Best Waitress in Los Angeles" by a leading LA magazine. All of the wait staff are great and service is prompt and friendly. Long live the "Spoon".
Pros: Gloria!
Cons: None
