I have been shopping at the store now for over 4 years, and have to say they are the best. The staff are super friendly, helpful, everyone who works there seems to really want to help you. The store is clean, well merchandised, and the "O" organics products are really expanding, the range just keeps on getting larger. I have friends who think that shopping at Vons is a no no, but compared to my local Gelsons, Ralphs and Albertsons, this store trumps them all across the board. The management at this store must be first rate, I used to run a convenience store in England, and know how important good management is, they are certainly doing something right at this particular Vons, I look forward to shopping there so much.
Pros: Amazing staff, cleanliness, good organic selection
Cons: None

I like The Downbeat Cafe. I always get some kind of tea or hot chocolate, the coffee is also good. The atmosphere is very laid back and there are special events going on some nights.
Parking sucks though, if you can't find any metered parking you have to drive around looking for a spot.

This place has amazing food with the same purveyors as Michelin starred restaurant, Providence... the crab scramble amazing... the ABLT and the Sophia Panini to die for... and i could eat 10 of the Passionfruit Gelee desserts!
Everything created by hand, (even the Valhrona ganache is homemade), and they are doing creative drinks that no one in the coffee industry is doing.
Every time I go, there are celebrities... Leo di Caprio, Ron Howard, Lindsay Lohan...so bring your out of town guests.
Worth every dollar, and the attention to detail impressive.
Pros: parking in back, no wait, great drinks and food
Cons: different entrances so confusing to know how to sit

The Century Plaza is a cool looking building, filled with great amenities and charm. A lavish pool area and spa, immense event space, a great bar and very centrally located to LA. When the price is not exorbitant, it’s the best deal in town. They know what they’re doing there.
Pros: Location, pool, event space
Cons: Parking expensive

Where else can I get a regular size iced coffee, made with three fresh shots of espresso, plus milk & sugar, for $2.35, at a drive-thru, served by friendly helpful people..? Nowhere else I can think of, around here anyway.
(If the line of cars is too long, run inside, it's faster)
Pros: low cost iced coffee

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf consistently makes good espresso drinks. Unlike Starbucks, their beans are all overly-dark. In all of the different Coffee Beans' I've been to, I've never gotten a bad cup. Also, they make great iced blendeds, and can make virtually any drink decaff and nonfat. If you get their frequent buyer card, you get a free drink (or free bulk coffee) after a few visits.
