Great food, great ladies, we had a great time. I would recommend this club to anyone. Not just guys. The drinks are a bit high, but what can you expect from a club like this. And we LOVED the food. You can print free passes online and its right off the 405 so its right in the middle of everything.
Pros: fun friendly admosphere, good looking girls, great food
Cons: drinks are a bit high

I didn't grow up on Mac n cheese and never really liked it...but after having the jalapeno mac n cheese here, I am hooked. On my way home from work, I usually stop in for a glass of wine but I always end up staying for more. The waiters/bartenders are very attentive and welcoming. There aren't many restaurants that have awesome food and service without burning a hole in your wallet. I have tried everything on the menu because they all sounded so interesting...and I have to say you can't really go wrong with any dish. I love short ribs and I have not found another restaurant that comes close to the short ribs at 15. The bacon wrapped figs (appetizers) are sooo good! And the Kobe burger is really really good. Overall, a great experience!
Pros: everything
Cons: nada

This non-profit organization was founded by Stewart Kwoh in 1980 after the killing of Vincent Chin, a Chinese man whose life was taken away because of his race. Since then APALC has helped out hundreds or even thousands of Asians who need legal help in a variety of capacities. APALC is famous for its work with the Thai immigrant workers and lawsuit against Abercrombie & Fitch.

Named after Gene Autry - a community philanthropist and movie cowboy - this American Indian museum consists of two centers which exhibit some memorabilia from his long career. I recommend going on the second Tuesday of each month and Thursdays after 4pm when both campuses offer free admission.

The Bigfoot Lodge is a good place to come and hear drunk quasi-hipster girls sing along to Sweet Caroline. I go for the fantastic decor, which is reminiscent of the Log Ride at Knott's Berry Farm. But, with more beer. The drinks are reasonably priced and it's within stumbling distance of The Roost.

More
A good friend of mine (who recently moved to DC) and I had long been fans of the "idea" of living in a downtown loft, and so, as some of the first lofts were going into downtown ~ 7-8 years ago, we went on tours of the buildings.
Many of the places were great -- but we both felt the prices didn't figure into it the cost of making that leap of faith moving downtown would entail. The developers were claiming back then that big retail establishments were just on the verge of committing to downtown -- and here, so many years later, few have (and almost none in the way of a Trader Joe's or B&N).
Also, a big part of the appeal of downtown living -- walking a downtown area, hanging out with friends, enjoying a vibrant cultural scene -- were not only lacking but probably not a good idea (at least the walking around after dark part).
I'm in my mid-30's now, and walking around downtown Culver City is plenty exciting enough for me. If downtown L.A. wants to become a magnet for nightlife and culture, it needs to do everything it can to get those things up and running before selling wary Angelenos on the idea of living there -- not the other way around.
