The below bad reviews are right. Belair camera are arrogant, lazy, and overall a terrible business.
I recently purchased a new Canon PowerShot SX1IS Digital Camera online and confirmed over the phone. After not receiving anything for a week, I called to check. The arrogant employee told me they shipped it four days ago and it should be there the next day.
So I waited, then after two days nothing came and I called back and asked for a tracking number. The same arrogant employee obviously fumbled around for a bit and after a long pause told me that they made a mistake and would ship it out the next day. Then, I asked for the manager, in which he told me he was the manager. He said he would send me an extra something to cover the mistake they made.
The product finally came, almost two weeks late, and the camera inside looked used and scratched up. And the extras seemed damaged as well. I paid for a new camera and they won't accept my camera as return because it has scratches.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! A HORRIBLE BUSINESS!

I just made the dreaded mistake of buying a Nikon D90, lens, and accessories from Bel Air. I just found out that if I had done my homework I would have saved over $500.00 had I gone to B&H Photo! B&H is a very reputable company with great service, don't let the price gougers BS you with the import vs. US line! Save your time and money!

Bel Air Camera stocks a large array of photographic supplies and equipment, so if you're looking for something -- chances are, it's here. The prices are pretty much full retail so you can probably find better prices online. If you need something quickly, though, this is a good place to start looking. Sales staff are knowledgable, but initiative isn't exactly their strong suit -- i.e., don't be surprised if you have to drag information out of them.

This is probably the store to go to for local students at UCLA and various artists living on the West side. It definitely carries lots of supplies, but if you're just looking for a regular digital camera it is better to go to a local Best Buy or Target. However, if you're looking for advice or expertise and looking to take photographs with SLRs, this is probably a better place for a wider selection.

More camera accessories than you would know what to do with, and you're going to want to try them all. Great supplies for photographers, and they offer a wide variety of cameras and film. Perfect for family vacations or trips abroad. I didn't even feel the need to worry that something would break- wonderful quality. Frames are availible as well, and they really cover the whole spectra of the art of the photograph.

The store looks big from the outside, but when you walk in, it's not that big. They sell all the latest equipment, but their prices are not the most competitive. Not that huge of a selection. I wasn't approached when I walked in, but there were staff around to help out. If you're looking for a deal, this is not your place. Parking is street or pay lots, and can be hard to find since the store is located in the Westwood Village.
