Citysearch Editorial Review
Eagle Rock's neighborhood coffee house manages to be both kid friendly and a good place to get some work done (Facebook!). Sleek, blonde wood accents and vaguely Scandinavian lingo call to mind Ikea, but the exposed brick walls and pop art lend a more eclectic vibe. Settle into one of many two-tops, snag a cushioned bench seat by the sunny front window or escape the bustle for a sidewalk table outside. Forgot your laptop? Hop online at one of the cyber cafe-style computer kiosks. Kids in tow? Dump them off at the adorable Sworkland play area while you indulge in a Mexican Mayan mocha. On the menu, you'll also find organic, fair trade, loose-leaf teas and deluxe drinks spiked with vanilla, caramel, chocolate and more. The wee ones get their own menu, with cute options like Raspberry Princess Potion, Mint Chocolate Dinosaur and Vanilla Bunny Boo. If you're feeling slightly less indulgent, there are plenty of muffins and scones.

A Work-Friendly Coffee Shop
  by foodforfel at Citysearch

Swork is actually a pretty good place to work from. The place has tons of table space and, if there's not a table available, there are benches (complete with comfy red cushions!) to sit on. Swork... More >

Swork has great coffee and pastries. It's such a convenient little neighborhood place. I like walking to the cool stores around the area after my morning cup of coffee. More >

It's where I go to get my work done. The lighting's good, it's not too loud (away from the kiddies in back), and the crowd is comfortable. And have I mentioned the iced raspberry earl grey... More >

Swork Coffee tends to get quite loud with the coffee machines, the chattering guests, and the kids play area. When there are too many people, the place definitely takes on a claustrophobic feeling.... More >

Internet, Coffee, Couches
  by alisonkramer at Citysearch

While this place may be more "urban chic" than its progressively hipster locale, the quality coffee, ample couch space, and Wi-Fi make it a winner. I did order a pound of coffee there last week,... More >
