The guy at the cafe, I guess it was the same guy who has gotten the bad reviews below, by the way, was such a r***st. When I went to the cafe last time, the guy was friendly talking to a caucasian women customer, and turned to me, he showed a very disappointed face and sighed deeply. I couldn't know why, so I didn't mind and ordered coffee. Then, he whispered by himself, "where do you come from" while looking at and typing the checkout counter. I am neither a caucasian nor an American, but did it matter? I didn't say anything to him because I am a woman and didn't want to argue with a tough guy. I felt awful all day long because I've never had the experience since I came the U.S. I was so sad. Btw, when I went there at the time before last, I ordered panini for lunch. He said that it was all run out, but now I doubt if he hid the panini. Pros: Good coffee Cons: Awful and the worst staff in LA

We walked into this cafe today, thinking that we would all enjoy a great cup of coffee. Instead, we were not greeted and when we attempted to order, the man who said he was the manager continued to play his video game on his PSP without ever looking at us or helping us. When I told him how rude I thought he was, he said, "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I apologize." I'm equally sorry that anyone would frequent such an establishment despite such disrespect.

THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The employees at this coffee shop make coffee for close to minimum wage and yet they act like they're too good to smile or even greet you nicely. The bald, fat, caucasian barista who works on Sunday nights had the worst attitude I have ever come across in a coffee shop. I asked him to recycle a bottle I had purchased earlier and he acted like it was too much to ask! How lazy can you get? Really! And then I asked for a dinner panini and he gave me the same attitude and it was clear his lazy personality couldn't handle making a single sandwich. My god! How lazy can you get?! And then when I asked him how soon the sandwich could be made, he said "...Well I'm going to make it when I make it and it'll be done when it's done." When I got up later to cancel my order because I was so angry, he seriously glared at me and stared me down. Disgusting...absolutely disgusting. I will never go back again. It's a good place to get work done on your laptop, not too many distractions like a St*rbucks and the like But the man is just so cranky. proficient, but cranky. The downside is that in the evening the lighting isn't great making it hard sometimes to work there. It's also open very late so if you need coffee at 1:30 am, this is your place.

I've been here twice. The first time was on a Sunday and we were lucky enough to find a table. The second time, I left after getting my coffee since there was no space for me to sit down and work. The place has a small up-stair with larger tables if you come with a group. There is wireless here but you have to make a purchase and to get password that is good for 2 hours. Overall, this was a cool place but there are definitely places that are less crowded with free wireless. Pros: Good coffee, food Cons: 2 hours wireless, too crowded

I unfortunately studied for a little bit since I just had to go get Pinkberry down the street. If I lived in the area I would definitely prefer it over Starbucks or Coffee Bean.

I only wish that for every Coffee Bean, Pete's, and Starbucks there was a Psychobabble. The coffee is so good, the tea selections are enormous and amazing, and they have the best cheesecake EVER. They're open until 2 am, and very appreciative of local artists- not only do they display art for sale (a virtual modern museum gallery in itself), but also host open mic nights and have free wi-fi. Sit and meet new people or just watch them play chess on the patio, or bring a book, but don't epect to read it- the people watching is just so much better. :-) Pros: CHEESECAKE, tea and coffee selections, artist support Cons: parking, sometimes super busy (but c'mon, it's LA people)

But if your patience endures and you do manage to land a couch cusion, you can be sure to enjoy a nice bohemian session of everything you'd expect from the neighborhood coffee shop.
