I love Seven Grand and the Golden Gopher, so I had to see what the owners did with this old dump. It looks great! The food was excellent, as was the service. I had the beef dip which came with a pickle spear. It was good, but not as good as Philippe's. Still, I would choose Cole's over Philippe's for the ambiance alone. Philippe's isn't a place you hang out in for very long. Cole's has a great vibe with retro-cool red leather booths and a bar in the front (which was filled with hipsters the night I was there). If you are driving, I recommend coming in the evening when all the meters are free.
Pros: nice ambiance
Cons: parking could be a hassle during the day

If you want really fantastic Indian food for a great price, then you must head to Samosa House. As someone who did long-term travel through India, this is the only place I have been to in the States (NY included) whose food actually brings me back to India, No greasy Americanized tika masala here...instead you'll find a lovely array of veg buffet dishes--South Indian coconut curry, jackfruit, lentils, etc. The space, a lovely Indian market, is a delight as well. I just went to India Sweet and Spices on Venice Blvd because I happened to be nearby, assuming it would be the same, and it is a world of difference. As a Culver City resident, Samosa House is by far my favorite neighborhood joint and is leagues apart from other Indian buffets in town.
Pros: delicious authentic food
Cons: hole in the wall, which I like, just know that before you go

It had been a long time since our last Indian meal (4 years), but the smell as you go through the door is wonderful. The food tastes just as good as it smells.
We were late for the start of the buffet lunch but it was still fresh, and there was plenty to chose from.
Service is excelent.
Pros: As good as any Bradford Curry house
Cons: Didn't find any, other than a satnav glitch on the address

When I went to Oiwake, I thought the buffet food was pretty good and a decent, but not great selection. If you are unfamiliar with the location, it may be hard to find at first because it is upstairs, but it's a nice cozy place with a very authentic feel to it. There is also a small stage for karaoke as well as a private room.

Sushi Buffet. Need I say more. What was I thinking? Out of weakness I went to the Todai on Ventura BLVD in Studio City (so I can not speak for the Todai on Wilshire). I might have been the only one in there that was under 50. Perhaps that crowd cant taste much more than their denture cream?? It was awful. I tried many things...thinking SOMETHING had to be decent. NOPE. I did not get past one bite of each item. There is just something unappetizing about raw fish that been sitting out under heat lamps. Yum. Yum. I've had better sushi on a pre-made Sushi platter from Target.
Pros: non
Cons: disgusting food
