One star is too much for this company. driver refused to take credit card and said he could only take it if I told him prior to getting in cab. When I told him that I didn't have the cash he said that I had to pay him or he would call the police. I offered credit card again and he refused. Called me a liar and dishonest. There is a definite scam going on here. I don't mind asking for cash but he crossed the line by saying if I didn't pay cash (after refusing my payment via credit card) that he would call the police. I told him to go ahead and do it. He offered that I must not live in LA because I didn't know "how bad the police are", another threat. I will walk to Orange County from LAX before I take one of these cabs again. Make sure they don't try to pull a scam on you too. God knows what they do to tourists from other countries that feel intimidated. Driver was in Taxi #165

We used this service to get from LAX to a hotel near Disneyland (car 85 I think).
The driver was rude, double charged us the airport fee, took a longer route than necessary, did not give proper change, did not give us a receipt and dropped us at the wrong location!
I called to complain to a supervisor who could obviously care less, said he would speak with the driver and then hung up.
I recommend that anyone thinking of using their service think again.

Fare was 5.50 driver was upset because apparently the tip wasn't big enough or it wasn't an airport trip. Unless the mindset of the cab drivers in Los Angeles changes then LA will continue to be non-cab town. Service was poor

This is a pretty good taxi service. I usually don't take the cab, but my experience with them was not bad at all. There was very little traffic with the route he took, and it was shorter than I had anticipated. He was a little late, but maybe my watch was fast a few minutes. Because I don't have very many experiences with taxi cabs, it is difficult for me to compare, but I generally felt like it went well. Obviously, as with any transportation, it is much better to get a ride with a friend, but if you must use a cab, you should think about United, because I know there are some pretty bad ones out there. You can find more information at their website : http://www.unitedtaxi.com/.

This place is very fast, which is very good for LA cab companies. I called a cab once on a Saturday night and they were at my door before me and my friends could finish our beers. However, make sure your phone is working so they can call you when they arrive! They don’t like it when you don’t pick up!

If you have taken a cab in LA, you know how bad it is. This one is the most decent among all the worse ones out there. At least they pick you up and take you to your destination without too much of a hassle. I still prefer for someone to give me a ride if I have a choice.

I have travelled a great deal over the last two years on business--five trips to Africa, over a dozen to Northern California, three to Louisiana, two to Kentucky and one to Canada, two to New York and one to Philly--that's at least 26 times I needed to get to the airport on a timely basis. Except for a couple of times I was lucky enough to get a company town car limo, I used United Independent every time, certainly over 20 times. Except for one time when the driver was a nerve-wracking 15 minutes late, then didn't know his way to the airport (he was obviously new, but that's no excuse), they were perfect. Every other time they showed up early, the dispatch called my phone to alert me that they were out front, and the drivers knew the best route. They have a combination of sedans and minivans, and they take major credit cards (though like all taxi drivers they grumble about it). After many many trips to Oakland Airport last year, and getting into one ridiculously smelly, dirty cab after another, I was always thankful to be back riding in the clean cabs of United Independent Taxi.
