My experience last night at the new Souplantation at the Beverly Connection was completely unsatisfactory. Upon entering the salad bar line, my fiance and I noticed that the employee cleaning the pre-made salad station used a filthy dish rag to push over-spilled salad back into the salad bowls. Upon seeing that, my fiance decided not to eat anything; I regretfully still did. But what we saw next was even more disturbing.
The same employee who was using a filthy dish rag to clean counters wearing plastic gloves then proceeded to refill other salad stations without changing her gloves! Meaning, after holding a dish rag, she used her unchanged-gloved hand to reach into a box of fresh lettuce, then placed lettuce into the serving bowl at the salad bar. Unfortunately, I do not think this employee was doing her job improperly. I think that she was not trained to do otherwise.
Ordinarily I would say you get what you pay for, but since SP has raised its prices - it now costs $14 for salad bar and a soda - one should expect a lot more for his money. Ironically, the place was packed.
Pros: Good lava cake
Cons: You can eat a more sanitary meal out of Crazy Robertson's roller-skate.
