Yummy noodles in a casual neigborhood setting with excellent service. Shoyu Ramen, Yakisoba and Tofu salad are hits, but dont forget the gyoza or the fried rice. You cant go wrong here. Order extra -- you will be surprised at how much you can eat here. No alcohol so BYUB. Lines can appear at lunch but they are nice and quick at getting people served and tables cleaned. Waitresses are quick and nice. Maybe I shouldnt be letting you know that this place is a hit.

This compact little store manages to fit a lot of high end product into such a small space. There's a deli with gourmet sandwiches and a host of other hot foods; a bakery; Godiva chocolates; freshly prepared sushi (also excellent); and a suprisingly large selection of fine wine. And, of course, there are groceries. Because of the small space, the store's selection is limited but if you're not attached to a specific brand name you should be able to get what you need. Prices in general are higher than, say, Ralph's and sales are infrequent.

Marina Farms has the best produce you can find in LA at a great price. They have all varieties of fruits and vegetables that you may be looking for. They also sell dairy products and all other food items. Once you discover this place, you will not go anywhere else to buy your produce. They have awesome pineapples. The best part of your visit will be when you look at your bill. You simply can't believe that you bought so much for so little. They are open until 7.00PM everyday.

When I lived in Los Angeles, Erewhon was the closest natural foods market to me. From the very first time I went, I was impressed with the variety and selection of foods and produce, even though it is a somewhat small store (when compared with large grocery stores). The staff is quite knowledgeable as well. The only drawback I found was that it was a little pricey. A couple bags of groceries could easily run $50 or more. However, if you are like me, and enjoy quality natural foods, then you'll spend the few extra dollars.

This health-food shop right across from a full-scale Albertsons looks tiny by comparison, but good things come in small packages. In the narrow aisles you can find everything from dietary supplements to pre-packaged lunch treats. The helpful staff in the grocery mart and bulk bin next door (great for grains and nuts!) are eager to answer your questions. Great place to spend your money, in my opinion.

I can't say I am a huge fan of all the companies now out there that push nutritional information or supplements. But there is one that I believe has a good record with helpful products. Shaklee.
There are quite a few things I would not purchase as I just don't buy that you have to take all these things to be healthy. However, I do use their soy protein, multi-vitamin and Omega Guard which is an Omega3 supplement.
I can order my items online, without the hassle of going to the store. For me this is a plus. If you need or want more information you can find it here http://www.shaklee.net/tawnia

Light My Fire is a little specialty store selling a wide variety of hot sauces. Each sauce is in a bottle with really entertaining and often times funny labels describing how hot the sauce within can be. The store is staffed with very knowledgeable employees who are more than happy to help you make a selection or answer any questions you may have.

This is where I stop for my post-shopping smoothie. When I'm all tuckered out from attacking the racks at Ross, I stop in for something cool and refreshing. Although I admit my favorite is the Peanut Butter Moo'd (totally has NO fruit, and it the WORST thing on the menu), there are plenty of other healthy options. Add different boosts to your drink to make it just right.
