Crab, shrimp cakes appetizer was superior in every respect-- the chef honored my request for extra crisp. However, the second order of same was forgotten!!. Obviously, we had an inferior waiter. Another appetizer, tower of crab, was too sweet.

I've been living downtown Los Angeles for years, only a few blocks from Rocket. The pizza is great, the service isn't. When we've gone into the restaurant, we've had a decent experience. But every time (and I mean EVERY time) we order delivery from Rocket, something disappointing happens.
On time delivery is definitely not to be expected. Sometimes it comes really fast and other times it can be over an hour late. Another time, the delivery guy didn't have a single dollar in change on him and left with an $8 tip - a bit excessive for a 3 block ride over. And from what I hear from my neighbors, this is not an isolated incident. I complained to Ivan the manager when that happened, and he did acknowledge that that was inappropriate and offered us a free pizza to keep us coming back.
But the latest issue with the delivery guy who couldn?t speak English and kept calling and saying he was outside my building when he definitely wasn?t was the last straw. I don?t know where this guy thought we lived, but he would call and say he was there and then when I went downstairs, he was not there. I tried calling him back several times, and he would pick up the phone, but not say anything and not respond when I asked where he was and how could I help him find our building. The restaurant wasn?t much help when I called them either. And when the guy finally made his way to our building, almost 30 mins late, I handed him the cash and asked for my pizza, and he handed me his phone!!
As far as I am concerned, I'm done with Rocket Pizza. It's a shame too, since I've been going there for three years and have referred many people there as well. I have lots of friends who are starting to move downtown, and when they ask me where to go for pizza, Rocket will not be on the tip of my tongue. A restaurant needs to not only be known for good food, but also live and die by its service. Due to the experiences we?ve had, someone needs to put Rocket out of its misery.
Pros: Great pizza, good wine list for a casual night, great location
Cons: Terrible, terrible, terrible service - especially delivery

As a steak lover, this is the first time in my life I've not finished my meal at a steakhouse. I ordered the strip and it was tough, flavorless, fatty, and down right disappointing. When my friend and I arrived, there was no hostess at the door so we had to ask the bartender to assist us with getting a table. This was surprising since the restaurant was not that crowded. Even though over the course of the night we had 3 different servers, no one was ever around when we needed something. Overall, the experience was memorably bad. The food was overpriced and so awful we ate later that night at another restaurant. On the positive side, the decor was contemporary, there was a dj spinning cool tracks, and the bar had a decent crowd.
Pros: Bar, DJ
Cons: Food, Service, Price, Location

Every once in a while, we all make the mistake of misplacing a credit card, and at the least you expect business personnel to be honest with you. Not the case at this Subway. After eating my sandwich in the restaurant, I walked down to Coffee Bean and then realized I didn't have my credit card. I walked back to Subway and asked the girl behind the counter if she had my card. Without hesitation, she replied in the least concerned, most obnoxious tone, "No" and walked away. I searched the restaurant, and even dug through the trash. I then went back to the same girl and pressed her, saying "I just used my card here, you did not give it back to me, it has to be here." Now cornered, she still had the nerve to demand, "What's your name?" After replying to her infuriating question, she produced the card. This exchange put a damper on my day, but thankfully, the kind service and good quality of Coffee Bean next door made up for it.
Cons: Dishonest employee

My experience last night at the new Souplantation at the Beverly Connection was completely unsatisfactory. Upon entering the salad bar line, my fiance and I noticed that the employee cleaning the pre-made salad station used a filthy dish rag to push over-spilled salad back into the salad bowls. Upon seeing that, my fiance decided not to eat anything; I regretfully still did. But what we saw next was even more disturbing.
The same employee who was using a filthy dish rag to clean counters wearing plastic gloves then proceeded to refill other salad stations without changing her gloves! Meaning, after holding a dish rag, she used her unchanged-gloved hand to reach into a box of fresh lettuce, then placed lettuce into the serving bowl at the salad bar. Unfortunately, I do not think this employee was doing her job improperly. I think that she was not trained to do otherwise.
Ordinarily I would say you get what you pay for, but since SP has raised its prices - it now costs $14 for salad bar and a soda - one should expect a lot more for his money. Ironically, the place was packed.
Pros: Good lava cake
Cons: You can eat a more sanitary meal out of Crazy Robertson's roller-skate.
