Lucky Strike Lanes is definately out of the ordinary. This bowling alley is huge and even has a water fountain in front. The place is really well decorated and has so many activities to choose from. It has five game rooms full of arcade games and the like. They have pool tables and weekends they actually have dancing. Who would have guessed a bowling alley with dancing.

What more can you ask for in a bowling alley with a full bar, D.J. and appetizers. Although the food isn't the greatest, it definitely gets the job done after several Martinis. This, along with a good mix of music from the D.J. on Friday nights, makes bowling all the more fun!!

Lucky Strike Bowling is located in the Hollywood and Highland complex. The decor has a modern art deco feel and look. The bowling alley is open for everyone to kids until about 7pm and then it becomes an alley for just adults. The atmosphere is fun, the music is blaring.
It's a cool place to go to and hang out but the downside is that it is expensive. They charge about $10/per person per game or you can play the flat fee for an hour. Luckily there is parking in the complex and that is pretty reasonable. I would recommend this place for a night of hanging out with your friends and buddies.

I was pleasantly surprised by Lucky Strike. Very good crowd, the bar is great and of course, bowling is always fun. A little expensive for bowling, but you're paying for the atmosphere. And who can resist watching scantily clad hollywood girls in ugly shoes trying to bowl. I've had the food here too and it's very standard.

So I was excited when I heard Lucky Strike was opening up - 24 hours, good food, hip interior - all fun things right? WRONG - 1st, there is no "restaurant" - just tables along the back wall. Which be miserable because THE MUSIC IS SO LOUD YOU CAN'T EVEN HOLD A CONVERSATION - WHEN YOU YELL. 2nd, the interior isn't hip, it's ridiculous - like some "Disney LA" - cheap looking and cliched. Please! A velvet rope at the door? Waitresses in - wait for it - black semi-bondage?!? Lucky Strike is part of a tourist mall - and seems to be geared just to tourist fantasies of LA. When there are *so many* really cool retro ones in town - with real bars and restaurants - WHY would you go to this one? and p.s. They don't have enough bowling balls. So pathetic.
Pros: Good Parking, 24 Hours, Only need to go once
Cons: , Too dark to see lane, Total lack of cool

I went to the lanes during the day one weekend and had a great time, although be careful what you order - they charge more than clubs do for their mixed drinks! Then I went back for a friend's birthday party that started after 7pm and was met with a velvet rope, bouncers and a dress code that refused to allow "athletic wear" into a BOWLING ALLEY. Of course I wore really nice active wear - I was going bowling! They refused to let me in even though I looked better than others wearing faded jeans and flip flops so I had to turn around, pay for parking and go home! They even insulted me further by suggesting I go to The Gap down the street! Stay away from this place if you want to have a simple good time bowling with friends. It's ludicrous and pretentious after dark.

True, I cam here mid-day, mid-week and missed out on what surely is a fun crowd. But the place is great. Food, drinks and atmosphere make this a really good place to hang out. Where else can you watch your teammates bowl while sitting on a sofa or lounging in a cool chair.
Pros: New And Cool, Great Food, Really Fun

I dont mind paying $7 a game at this joint. The ambiance is hot, the people are trendy and friendly who hang there. The pool table is $16 an hour, whats up with that? Drinks are kind of pricey. My recommendation is that if you are bowling, just walk up to the bar and get your drinks. Even if the waitress tells you that you dont understand, this is taking away from her tips. (which my group was told) but after receiving drinks 15-20 minutes after you order, you might as well do it yourself in 3 minutes and tip the bartender instead. I really like this place. Good music too. Makes for a great group event. And sofas around the place make it cool to sit around and enjoy drinks instead of the typical table scene.
Pros: beautiful layout, bartender is fast, sofas to kick back
Cons: long wait for bowling, $16 an hour for pool?, nude art distracts
