Went there to meet up with some friends after work on Friday. They don't get busy until around 9, but it's a nice bowling joint. Very clean and comfortable. The bartender girls were pretty snotty and we got lousy service and the drinks were a little spendy, but other than that it was fun. Pros: Decent food, Easy parking in the lot, nice location Cons: Long waits at the bar

Lucky Strike lanes is novel. There isnt much not to like. A fireplace, great decor, cool music, low lit (but definitely bright enough to bowl.), good drinks, decent food. Who expects gourmet food at a bowling alley???? Cmon people. Overall, it is very cool here. Anyhow, I dont like hollywood very much, dont get me wrong, it is trying really hard to fix itself, but it has a ways to go. Anyhow, I like to go to Lucky Strike Lanes in Torrance (near my home). The one in torrance is just as nice as the one in Hollywood, but it is VERY chill. No hollywood pretention, just good clean fun. All in all, it is a place to try!!

I went to lucky strike in January 2006 for a friends birthday. My boyfriend and I waited for a while before everyone got there, so we had food- chicken trio is GREAT (I still talk about it til this day), and every drink i had was perfect. The ambience of the place was really relaxed and the decor was awesome! I havn't had a chance to go back since. But I DO plan to go back soon. I highly recommend this place for friends that want to have a break from regular bars and hangouts.

Last week I was forced to go bowling with a group of friends. Needless to say, the last time I was at a bowling alley, it too was for a birthday party. Only then, I am quite sure I was wearing an oversized "Betty Boop" sweatshirt. Anyway, this place is ridiculous. Sooo not what I expected. Very cool ambience, amazing food and comfy couches galore. The most impressive aspect was surprisingly the staff. LA is filled with such trendy places. Ususally the staff thinks you should be waiting on them. Not here. In my attempt to get drunk and pretend I was actually athletic, I somehow managed to leave my purse behind. A female staff member used my cell phone to leave me a message informing me of my stranded belongings and their whereabouts. The next day I returned to find everything in tact. No money missing, cell phone, credit cards and most importantly my I.D. There is nothing worse than sitting at the DMV. So, yeah. I like the vibe.....

No longer a diry 'lower class' place to go, Hollywood & Highland has created a neon-lit, megatron toting, DJ spinning, classy bar & fancy restaurant bowling alley that can attract those who would rather touch cleaner bowling balls and share bowling shoes that might have been worn by celebrities. The price adds up, rounds are per person, not per lane and the bar comes with a hefty pricetag, but nevertheless a fun time and a nice middle ground for those who want to add a game to their usual drinking/clubbing saturday nights. You can chill out with friends and even play pool. When I went there I was with a party and we were served food right next to the lanes. it was overall a fun experience but be prepared to pay.

They have a DJ and a bar to keep you entertained while you wait for a lane to free up because the place does get really busy. They don't have free parking available, only a parking garage at a fee.
