I am frankly baffled by the vitriolic reviews here. Seems like everyone's happy, except for a few who've somehow been raped by this place. I have never had a negative experience here, and I've been coming for YEARS. In fact, it's gotten better. The food is great, blah blah blah, but I have to tell you about the Carrot Cake. It is phenomenal. My friend doesn't even like carrot cake, and upon tasting it, said she wanted that cake to be the cake at her wedding. It is the standard to which I hold all other carrot cakes in the city. Great great place. And try it on Mon and Tues, when they have lots of special deals. Pros: portions, dessert, atmosphere

came in for a quick breakfast before shopping at the farmer's market--- food took forever to come and was lukewarm at best. Obviously sat in window a while. When the check came, it seemed really high for just breakfast ------ on closer inspection, a 20% tip had been added on AFTER tax! The server never mentioned it, we were only a party of 4 (two were kids) and the charge slip still had a blank tip line! This is preying on people who don't look at a check closely and will then tip DOUBLE. Not a good practice, especially in times like this when people can't go out to eat as often as they'd like to. I work in the resaurant industry and I know that I will not be going back to GOOD. Nice servers, but maybe it's just because most people fall for this scam and they are laughing all the way to the bank! Pros: nice servers Cons: lukewarm food, tip added on check for even table of 4!

Good has it's own crowd and it's a real cool place. Once you plug into the vibe here you understand why its' called good! Other places are wanna be's when it comes to the beers at good microbrew. Thought i would give this place one more try...went for the New Year 2009! New Years lunch...since GOOD kept sending emails about being open all holidays, christmas and new years...blah blah blah. They were busy but get this...we had to wait 45 minutes for our order!!! Good is NOT GREAT! And not only did we have to wait...a lot of items on the menu werent even available...what!?!? Refills? Dont even think about it...oh and get this...a couple came in (yes we were still waiting for our food) and the waiter straight told them 45-50 minute wait on orders. Thats it NEVER going back...like i said it's good (sometimes) definitely NOT GREAT! Pros: reasonably priced Cons: terrible service!

We had been to Good once before... Let me stop there. I simply can't continue to refer to this restaurant by name... it just feels like such a lie! This place is anything but "good." In fact, it should trade names with the establishment across the street, Malo. Other than the interesting beer selection, there is nothing worth seeing here. The food is mediocre at best, often served lukewarm and then reheated upon request after, of course a disgruntled harrumph from the server. The menu at first glance seems promising, but fails to deliver on any of those promises. Even the French Press coffee is initially enticing, until it arrives and you realize that your local 7-11 has a better brew. For the money, get your grind on, down the street at Intelligencia. One more oddity... our server was cold, disingenuous, unfriendly and slow... and that was before she saw her 15% tip. Pros: Good beer selection... Cons: Everything else: service, food, ambiance, decor, coffee, did I mention food?

I have been a customer for years, the food was never great but the servers were very friendly and sometimes seemed frightend. The trouble was always there, but because my partner and I are creatures of habit, we would visit about once a week spending about 32.00 a visit. We were loyal, then last year something went really wrong, the owner seemed to be so uptight you could feel his tension, everytime we ate something was either,,A: burned, B: wrong C: missing D: cold E: brought out 1/2 an hour after others had been served. If you complained the waiters seemed scared ( almost wanting you to just eat it) One time I took some friends and they asked me if I was nuts because I put up with such bad service. Its too bad because money is tight and if im going to spend it, it wont be at GOOD. By the way, be careful and dont ask for extra butter!!!!! ( even if you offer to pay for it!) For the money, Dustys down the street is much better or even Astros a place that knows its a greasy spoon! Pros: sunday breakfast is ok/ "peaches and babyboy" Cons: no regular coffee/ long waits for food/ fearful servers/ high anxiety owner/

Wow, I just got home from a terrible, overpriced dinner at Good. I ordered a burger to be "medium well" which turned out to be rare. The french fries were hard and cold. My husband's philly cheese steak was supposed to be "thin slices of prime rib" according to the menu, but it was more like think slices of cardboard stuck between 2 slices of soggy bread. The onion rings were the worst I've ever tasted, and OH! I forgot the prices. SO OVER-PRICED! That cheeseburger I managed to eat a few bites of costs $13. I would have rather been at Carl's Junior! Pros: NONE Cons: terrible food and high prices

A friend of mine not being a beer drinker with her, single twenty something friends wanted to go out for a night on the town (I'm in my late 30's and married) mentioned good microbrew and grill. They were reluctant but we all went anyway; We are all we did! Yes, it's a beer drinker's paradise but it's also a non-beer drinker's type of place as well. They have these specialty flavored beers just for people like my friend who are novice with beer. Some type of apple/pear combination that was wonderful! The service was great! The patio is fabulous and can get full very quickly; pets are welcomed on the patio. On Mystery Beer night it can get crowded very quickly. Pros: Selection of beer and food. Nice friendly staff Cons: Can get crowded quickly

If you're a beer enthusiast, you've got experience Good at least once. The sheer number of bottle labels as well as a good number on tap (both in house & commercial) make it worth the trip if you reside in LA county. I had the beer sampler which included a good in-house hefe and IPA. Since I didn't order any food I can't comment on that. The area in Silver Lake is ok and seems to be making somewhat of a "comeback" with the artsy and tatooed crowd. Pros: Beer Bottle Selection
