You have to try their Gladiator Omelet! It’s AMAZING! This place has decent prices for being on Melrose and being a small café. Also, they have a very extensive tea menu, which is great to peruse if you’re dining with one or two other people who are into tea. The art on the walls inside is also very cool, adding to the whole ambiance.

Their cheese rolls are so good. Fattening but good since there is cream cheese in the middle and sugar and butter on top. There is something about it. Maybe it's the greese. It don't know. You can buy 3 rolls for .75 cents and it's worth it. Plus their pan de sal is really tasty since it's freshly made and hot and fresh.

Get Great food at Star Ckicken for nothing. I went to Star Chicken in Westwood, and had one of their many specials. They have a special that runs all day, and one in the evening and on weekends. For about six dollars, you get a quarter piece of chicken, two sides and a drink! The chicken is a large breast piece, and the sides are very tasty too. This cafe is a great place to go if your on a low carb or low calorie diet. The food is healthy and delicious. The chicken is always moist and tender. I enjoy the herb roasted potatoes and the salad with basamic vinger. They also have other pasta salads. If you like salads and wraps, they have over 20 salads and wraps. They are also low price and tasty too.

The relaxed, comfortable ambiance makes for the perfect place to reconnect with old friends, enjoy a nutritious mid-afternoon snack or order take-out when one tires of unhealthy greasy fast food. The grocery store has the organic products, at very competitive prices, that other stores don't carry. Simply Wholesome seems like much more than a restaurant, in fact, it is an experience. I was absolutely astonished at what has developed over the years into one of the most happening spots in L.A.!!!

Schwartz bakery has been at the same location for as long as I can remember. They even have branches now. It is the one kosher backer in LA that I know that I can go to and get everything I need-cake, bread, brownies, etc. They even have a separate Passover bakery which sells incredibly good stuff. Their baked goods freeze very well. I make trips from the Valley to shop here. They are closed Fri night, Sat and all major Jewish holidays

Sam's has the best bagels in town. They have an incredible selection. My favorite is the chocolate chip bagel. It's yummy toasted with butter. Their breakfast sandwiches are great, too. There are a few tables outside, so you can sit outside and people-watch while you eat.

If you'd like to try something different that your usual American fare, try Ethiopian food. You eat scooping up lentils, cabbage, tomatoes, meat with injera bread. injera bread is a spongy bread which soaks up sauces and flavors while filling your belly. Rosalind's is a bigger restaurant in Little Ethiopia on Fairfax between Olympic and Pico.
While I can't say i enjoy the aroma of incense, the restaurant is comfortable and nicely decorated.

this bakery doesn't seem to have one bad product in its assortment. the madelines are lemony, the fruit tarts and merengues are light and heavenly, and the sticky buns (miniature bite size ones) are fantastic! you really can't eat just one.
add to that a great staff that is as personable as their pastries are delicious and its a winning combo.
even my father, who is not a fan of macaroons, couldn't keep away from the chocolate dipped versions from this place.
the merengues make great hostess gifts!
