My wife and I dine out every night of the week and we have for the past five years since we've been married. Neither of us can cook to save our lives so we are forced to eat at restaurants whenever we're hungry! I'm always online checking out the reviews but have never written one myself and I know people have bad experiences sometimes in restaurants but we left Nick and Stef's happy and full!
The host was very polite and friendly. She asked our name, told us our table was ready and handed us off to a young man who guided us to the table and introduced us to our server, Heather. Wow this lady is something else! She was so nice and patient with us. We tend to be finicky at restaurants, we ask lots of questions when we like the place, and she took great care in answering them.
The meal was just fantastic! We are very happy to have found Nick and Stef's and we're going back with our friends next week! As for the bad reviews on the place, well...those people might be wound a little too tight!

I make it a point to eat here every time I'm in L.A. - and don't let the discovery that this unassuming little place is in a strip mall - this food is wonderful. If there's a wait - it's worth it. NOTE: A reviewer in February mistook this place for some place called Antonio and put her bad experience under Alegria's on Sunset's reveiw.
Pros: The food!
Cons: It's not a "romantic" wine and dine place.

This is my new neighborhood joint. Well, when I have someone over with money willing to treat me, that is. I went there last night for the first time after seeing that is is packed nearly every night of the week even while restaurants around the country are reporting slow downs in business. There is a great energy inside. If you don't know Italian wines - which I don't really - just ask for a reccomedation. Or ask to try a sample. They will gladly oblige. Have a drink at the intimate bar and then have your dinner there too. Or move upstairs to the cozy fireside room. The ravioli with butter and sage sauce is perfection. The pizza was delicious - I prefer a little crispier crust, but the quality of ingredients and preparation were obvious.
This is the place to take your friends with money who don't know this pocket of LA and then they will think you know secrets about the city that they don't.
Last night, dinner for two with salads and two drinks per person came to $143 including tip.
Pros: Romantic setting, Excellent food, Great Vibe
Cons: Expensive

The service is great, the atmosphere is great, the food is excellent, especially the sweet corn stuffed pasta with brown butter sauce. Yum, it is triangle shaped pasta stuffed with sweet corn sprinkled with perfectly crisped bacon pieces and topped with a delicious brown butter sauce, it melts in your mouth. I will be going back for sure.

I ate at Eat on Sunset tonight before going to see Wicked and WOW was it great... The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. The waiter asked if we were going to see Wicked and said that he would make sure that he would get us there on time...
I had the meatloaf TV dinner and it was a lot of fun... I had a smile on my face the entire time I was eating it... The food was great and it was a fun idea.
I can't wait to go to Eat on Sunset again.
Pros: Great Food, Service and atmosphere
Cons: None that I can think of

More
Determined to escape my four-day, extended law student seminar at a hyper-expensive LAX big-box hotel, I consulted the concierge for a local Italian recommendation.
"You know, something local? Nearby? Not Olive Garden?"
I just got a blank stare as she snapped her gum. "There's Mangy-something down in the Marina? Marina Del Rey?" Like I'm suppose to know that already.
CITY SEARCH came up with Alejo's on Lincoln in Westchester, just beyond a stone's throw from the airport and only $10 in cab fare from Century Blvd. As the other reviews here stated, noting fancy in terms of decor or atmosphere, busy and crowded, but honest, well prepared food served quickly and competently. And yes, the garlic oil and fresh bread are terrific.
While veal may be un-p.c., I happen to like it. A lot. And while it wasn't Provimi, the veal parm I had last night at Alejo's is praise-worthy. An honest-to-god, ample cutlet (not ground), at least 8 ounces, well-pounded, lightly breaded, light on the mozzerel. It was accompanied with a generous, steaming mound of perfectly cooked (al dente) and sauced spaghetti. Buono gusto!
At $13.95, a real deal for real veal. The downside was the pricey chianti classico ($6.95 per glass) that came in a tiny, 3.5 oz glass as brimming full. Would recommend a half-bottle or more for next time.
Next time? If I don't pass the bar this time, I'll be back for another seminar here at Soulless Central but at least I'll have Alejo's to look forward to.
Pros: Cost, service, food prep
Cons: Noisy, crowded

We often are just walk-ins here. Usually have to wait a few minutes, but not too bad. We avoid the popular times like Saturday nights. Once we actually made a reservation and had to wait about 10 minutes, which was annoying. But once you sit down, the waiters and servers are extremely nice and professional and don't rush you.
Everything we have ever eaten here has been fantastic. The food is simply delicious - the flavors come together wonderfully, every dish is perfectly executed.
One of our favorites.
Pros: food, service
Cons: sometimes need to wait for a table for a little bit, parking can be a challenge
