When my kids were younger, they really enjoyed going to Travel Town and spending the day. They loved running around the trains, looking at the old museum like pieces. Sitting in them and eating there. We adults were just happy to let them out of the house, run around, get exercise and watch them enjoy themselves! Now, it's been handed down to my nieces and nephews. Now they love doing the very same things my kids did when they were younger! They run around the big trains, they look at the old sample museum sized pieces, they have parties in actual trains and can just be themselves. I really recommend kids come and play here.

Travel Town is a cute little park near the zoo. They have real trains that kids can climbon and go in. There's also a mesuesum and a gift shop. My daugther really liked the little train that goes around the park and the train is cheap -- I think $1. Admission and parking is free and there's lots of parking. There are picnic tables and you can also reserve a trainc ar (for a fee) and have a party in a train -- a great idea for a kids party.

Travel Town is a small little train themed museum in Griffith Park. Nice place to drop by for a few hours with the kids, and also go down the street to LA Live Steamers. Not really innovative and the collection isn't well kept, but the train ride around the park is fun for the kids. Lots of promise if they could find some more volunteers for this place. Not the greatest for a train buff due to lack of maintenance, but they are working on a new train shed.
