The selections are general but I love the honey walnut shrimps. Great location...somewhat hard to find on the road...you have to look out for it and turn in or else you'll miss it.

Okay, if you're looking for the same orange chicken, beef broccoli-type of Chinese food, don't come here! I've never been to China, so I don't know what authentic Chinese food really taste like, but if it tastes like the food over at Hunan Homes, then I'm booking my plane ticket now!! I usually go with my girlfriend and her aunt and everytime I've been there, the food was not just good, but totally...... ORGASMIK (Citysearch won't let me spell it properly)!!! Haha! Okay, maybe not that good, but pretty darn close. Here is where I would normally write down what you should order, but I think I would run out of characters to type in! Trust me, just try whatever sounds good on the menu and it'll be better than any other place you've had it!
Pros: GREAT food! Good selection
Cons: Average service

I searched China for better honey walnut prawns and couldn't find any as good as the ones at Hunan Homes! Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in the area--don't pay more for the lesser food at other Chinese restaurants in the area. The food here is far better! The prices are reasonable, the food always comes quickly. . . I've been going here for years and have never been unhappy with my meals.

Hunan is a little known restaurant with a sister location in SF. The decor is not the most impressive, however the food is fantastic and the service is typically good. They will usually serve up a free entry of fried tofu with soy sauce / garlic which is tasty.
Favorite dishes: mu shu pork, hunan tofu, scallops / beef, prawns with pecans, crab (expensive).

Hunan Home's is a very good Chinese restaurant. I especially found that their service was very good. Be sure to come early, because parking is VERY limited. They offer traditional Chinese dishes, like walnut shrimp, sweet and sour pork, tofu platter, and all kinds of fish. There is unlimited rice. There is also a private room for larger parties. Be sure not to miss out on their string bean dish and walnut shrimp. One more thing: always order one of their great soups.

The best I've tried in the Palo Alto area, hands down. Everything I've eaten has been delicious and made with high quality ingredients. I definitely recommend it!
