I've been eating at the Katelli Deli for over 14 years. With very few exceptions my friends, family, and I have always loved the food and the service.
Yes, if you want chicken in the matzo ball soup, you have to add that to your order.
The portions are large, food always fresh, great meats, and the bakery is fantastic. I have had many of their delicious desserts from the bakery, both single serving and cakes. A custom cake that was ordered for my birthday was fantastic and I was extremely grateful my friends bought it there...yummmm, chocolate!
Good place for large groups, just call in advance to let them know if you can.
Pros: Their all-in-the-bowl soup is fantastic and enough for two!
Cons: Long waits on Sunday mornings

The first time I saw their sign I thought this was a canine bakery :0.Much to my pleasant surprise it was anything but! Fabulous breads and every manner of yummyness can be found at the HB store. The Los Alamitos store specializes in award winning wedding and specialty cakes. Why are you still reading? Go!

My family loves Fortune Cookies food. It is very healthy, they use very little oil and no MSG in their cooking. Their won ton soup is delicious, it has a lot of won tons and shrimp and chicken.
The pan fried potstickers are delicious, and the kung pao chicken is really a good one to try.
It is a little on the pricey side, but it is very good.

i am not a clam chowder fan and hardly ever order fish at a restaurant, but fish co's clam chowder is hands down one of the best i've ever tasted. all the fishes i've tried were great too (halibut, salmon, seabass) the pastas are equally tasty too.

The sushi here is always delicious and the service is good too. The owner actually gave us a free roll before closing so that would be an ideal time to go if you're looking for some freebies. The prices aren't too bad anyway. The tempura is delicious!

The teriyaki chicken is my favorite. I like how they have some chow-mein noodles over the rice, with the chicken over all of that. The portions are very generous and it's not expensive at all. I always get the teriyaki chicken plate with a side order of goyza (dumplings).

I've been coming to this place since the original place opened in Lakewood. Pat and his Son and Daughter-in-Law purchased this location over 30 years ago. The place is quaint and a (bit) dated, but the pizza is the made from only the best ingredients, the dough is freshly made and is thin crust and delicious. One of the owners is almost always present, so the standards in service and quality are always maintained. There is a whole group of regulars that have eaten here for years and are faithfull to this place. Very cozy atmosphere with very good New York style pizza. The service is outstanding, the food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. I almost don't want anyone else to know!

It doesn’t matter if there’s a recession—my hair still needs timely cuts and trims, as does each member of my family. I have always been particular on who is going to do that. I want experience, the atmosphere, and some pampering too, of course. My husband, God love him, just wants a hair cut—in and out. Of course, over the years I’ve taught him that hair designers differ from fast cut places because they take the time to teach you about your hair and what works for it best. You get that and more at Bella Hair Designers, which is nestled next to Hoft’s Hut in the heart of Los Alamitos. It is close to Rossmoor to the west, Cypress to the east, Seal Beach and all the beaches to the south, and Cerritos to the north.
Grace Caponera, the owner, is a petite and pretty woman whose Italian heritage shines through. I don’t miss a beat—I saw the coffee maker right next to the door when I entered, with small cups neatly set on top of each other (cream and sugar conveniently placed there too). I thought I died and went to heaven. The feeling of home doesn’t stop there. The cushy tapestry covered chairs near the reception desk were comfortable and reminded me of a European Café scene.
The ladies who work there have at least 15 years of experience in salon work. Some of the workers (including Grace) worked at Edwards Hair Designers previously, and another group of gals recently moved from L.A. Hair. From what I gather in talking to my own hairdresser Nina—Bella is a great place to work for.
I spoke with Cindie O, who Grace has known since their Edwards Hair Designers days. Cindie grew up outside of Los Alamitos, then moved away for some years, and just moved back to California. She loves doing what she has always done--hair cuts and color, but for the last eight years she also specializes in Great Lengths Hair Extensions that has made Jennifer Aniston famous on the red carpet in Hollywood.
The camaraderie I detect between the ladies in this ‘happening’ place is truly an inspiration. Manicures and pedicures are soothingly taken care of by Kathy, Jackie, Crystal and Cynthia. If that isn’t enough pampering, how about transforming yourself into the next ‘bella donna o uomo’—beautiful woman or man? You can do that with the expertise of stylists like Grace (owner), Cindie O, Brenda, Kami, Jane, Lynn, Nina, Elsa, Renee, and Cindy P. As you are placed in the chair by a member of the Bella family, you feel like you’ve come alive. All the focus is on you, and making you happy is what counts. Men, women, and children alike will find its appeal because that is something that comes to this shop naturally. You can go into most salons nowadays and all you hear is hustle and bustle. With Bella Hair Designers, it’s not like that at all. I almost feel like I could prop my feet up and just stay there forever—but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for the next client that deserves this first class treatment. California Wok has Chinese and Thai food.We have been patronizing this restaurant for years. Even though it is now under new ownership, the food has stayed the same. The service is good; they are attentive and prompt. They are also very accommodating about kids meals. Give it a try!
