View from waterfront gazeboLopez Island is the sleepiest of the "big three" (Orcas and San Juan being the other two) that offer visitor services, and the Blue Fjord Cabins are a perfect place to just kick back and relax.
The two small chalet-style cabins, which have full kitchens, are clean, comfortable and cozy, if a bit basic. You'll savor nearly complete privacy here, as the cabins—well away from any main roads—are separated from each other by wooded groves.
Take the short trail down to the nearby beach, where you may glimpse some of the resident bald eagles and blue herons. If the island's sleepiness doesn't force you to relax, Blue Fjord's three-night minimum in July and August definitely will.
