These cottages are outstanding -- cute, clean, invisible staff, surrounded by meadows and farmland with sheep, rabbits, farm dogs. Close to the village (biking close), and just a pleasant pleasant place. I'd go back anytime...

I had been to Lopez several times a few years ago but I remembered it fondly as having gorgeous vistas and a great and long standing organic farming tradition. I hadn't stayed at the Edenwild, though, opting for vacation rentals on the south side of the island. I can't say how nice it was to stay in town and walk to the cute little shops and eateries. I saw more art, more references to organic food, and had more yummy foodie choices in general to make than on my last visits. Back at the B&B, I felt like we were were staying with friends who had gave us the keys to their incredibly beautiful, comfortable, clean house and fed us and showed us where all the cool stuff to do was and then let us disappear into our own private world. Our room had a fireplace, and even though it wasn't the weather for it, we lit a fire and enjoyed it. I slept like I can't remember and actually thought about calling in sick the next day. We can't wait to go back.

We tried to send our parents here for a nice weekend away as a thank you gift. I dealt with Kelly at the front desk and she assured me that everything would be taken care of. On check out, however, our parents were actually asked to pay for their stay (by Kelly, the same woman who took my credit card information over the phone and had pre-charged us). It was incredibly embarrassing for us--it was supposed to be a gift for our folks.
After that was cleared up, we received a phone call from Kelly two months later that said we were "undercharged" for our parent's stay and that she needed to charge our card again. We did not authorize the charge. A few weeks later, guess who charged our credit card for $185.00?
These people are shady. I would not trust them with your credit card information. Just don't give them your business--it may save you months of headaches.
