This is a gem in Long Island City. I just moved in down the block and will be eating at or taking out Manetta's at least once a week. Definitely try their chicken parm.

This is an amazing place. An absolute gem. I've gone alone for drinks, with my buds for more drinks and with my wife and kids for sit down dinners. It's been a 9.5-10 for each scenario.
The place is simply hot and THE place to be. And, just as important, the owners.. two brothers... each named Shi... are very hospitable hosts.
Can't go wrong.

I've been to Lounge 47 countless times.
I usually end up going there when I'm giving someone a tour of the neighborhood.
Its always a safe bet. I hate using the word "safe" since that implies boring...but its not boring food.
It just caters to a wide variety of tastes so even if you have a large group of people everyone will find something they like on the menu (from regular diner style foods to different ethnic dishes...all yummy!).
The mixed drinks are on the pricey side but they're worth it, always strong and tasty. Love the Long Island City Iced Tea!
This isn't a romantic, candle-lit restaurant but it makes for a nice, casual date spot for someone you've gone out with a few times already. Its also good for groups but there may be a little wait until some tables clear. The outside seating area can accomodate large groups in the summer, though.
Good crowd (no bridge n tunnel folks, yeay!), good music (never loud) and good food.....these are the things that keep me going back!
P.S. The brunch is just as great as the regular food with a varied menu (from Irish Breakfast to Huevos Rancheros!).

It took me all of 2 minutes to fall into a deep state of non panic when I called these guys. I think what they understand is that you really need to feel secure when you hire a caterer and with them you really are. They are so professional. Down to every detail Scott and his wonderful crew delivered one an extremely successful, elegant and FUN menu and troubleshooted last minute details like you know....electricity not working!!!...yet they still delivered. They ROCK I tell you.
I think my personal favorite was the lemon strawberry cheesecake although the pot-stickers and sliders call to me in my sleep as well. I really hope to work with you again and again....if only to get another pot-sticker.
Thank you fpr a wonderful event- it was largely due to you and your staff. :)

the reason i m writing this is because i started reading the reviews some people wrote . i ve been going to strip clubs for many years and all of them have their ups and downs . i started going to scandals about a year ago and still going there with clients,friends etc. when you walk in the check your id and you . Now , is that a bad thing? They make sure that noone carries weapons. I go there to relax and have some fun the last thing i need is to get shot . how many times we hear about shootings in clubs. they made me check my hat and jacket but at least it was complimentary no charge. i ve been to other clubs and its pay to valet your car pay to get in pay for coatcheck . i ve been seing couples in there that their having fun. lets face it guys safety is number 1 and i feel safe in there no fights no guns no nothing . i'm glad they check everyone. i stopped going to manhattan because everyrthing is overpriced and i wasnt having fun . i go to scandals and it s great the service is good the dancers are pretty and friendly and all the people that work there very helpful. they bought us a round of drinks and they gave us frouits cause we were drinking alot . i never got a buyback in a strip club before . my choice people is scandals

Go downstairs to the bar on a Friday night. Sherri (not sure about spelling) is the bartender and she is the best. She makes the most delicious mojitos I have ever tasted. It's so good I can't drink them anywhere else. And the food is pretty good too, plus the portions are generous. Some parts of the downstairs seem to be a work in progress when it comes to the decor, but that isn't something that should deter anyone. Overall I think it's well worth the short trip into Queens.
Pros: bartender, mojitos, food, ambiance, the cat

I work around the corner from the chelsea market and I always go in there to get desert. Their cupcakes are the best. Eleni's is soooo good! I've not ordered anything online since I can get it directly from the bakery, but their cookies are always well received at the office. Highly recommended.
Pros: great cupcakes - better than magnolia

I've been a number of times with various groups of friends - we always have a wonderful time. The Mariachi band that plays in the evenings makes it feel even more authentic. The choices for margaritas is plentiful, and the food is really delicious. They even make guacamole tableside to your liking! They are currently (Sept '07) undergoing renovations and expansion, but they are still open!
