The only word that i can think of for this amazing. It will be the best food u have ever tasted in ur entire life. Service is great. My only complaint is that the place itself is somewhat limited on space. Other than that go eat there now."

My friends and I went on a Thursday night to check out the food and the live performance of The Thugs - we were thoroughly impressed. The music was awesome, the atmosphere was casual, the drinks were STIFF, the food was great (got the sliders + fries - thumbs up!), and the prices were right.
The crowd was varied, from early 20s to a few old timers. All of them seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Also, take some of the earlier negative reviews with a grain of salt. The Gaslamp is under new ownership/management as of November, 2009, which may explain why my friends and I didn't observe any of the negative experiences as described by earlier reviews. We honestly had a great time from start to finish.
Give this place a try if you are looking for a night of great food/drinks, great service, great value, and great live music with your friends. You won’t be disappointed.
Pros: Food, Drinks, Live Music, Value

I have been eating at Papalucci's for 16 years and absolutely love it. It all started when we lived in Long Beach and would get there early so we could beat the crowds. Now that I live in San Diego, I still manage to get back here at least once a month for lunch. The garlic rolls are to die for, but my favorite is the simple preparation of their pasta with olive oil, garlic, parsley and red pepper. I've had that dish many places, but few do it as well as Papalucci. The service is always great. The prices are reasonable. And now they take credit cards as well! What's not to love?

Welcome to one of the best kept secrets in Long Beach, for dinning and and entertainment. Owners Luis and Candi Lemus have taken extreme steps to make sure the Prospector has maintained the atmosphere of yesteryear. Diversity is key, from menu selections, which includes daily and monthly specials to the entertainment oppertunities daily and most evenings.
There have been few changes from the menu that has been offered now for a few generations. In fact, that's some of the beauty of the Prospector. It's not uncommon to see families that include three or more generations dinning together regularly. Luis also offers accomodations for you special events, group dinner parties for special occasions and special arrangements for any occasion a.
Diversity ! From the daytime there is sports or soaps from several locations, or if inclined, lively conversation with friends and maybe with some of the well informed locals. The evenings always provide an array of entertainment ranging from live entertainment presented by and for Long Beach's renowned " Swanky " crowd to the " Old School " Karaoke groups which are always complemented by an enthusiastic LB State infusion. Rated a Must Try.

This is one of Long Beach's best kept secrets. And for good reason. The menu at this little Vietnamese restaurant isn't extensive, and every dish is wonderful. Exceptionally high recommendations for their shaken filet, their wonderful bowls of steaming pho soup, and their delicious charred pork and lemongrass spring rolls. Prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly. Watch out for a wait on the weekends, though, but it goes quickly.

I am a complete regular at Alondras, I love their Chile Lime Hot Wings and their Godfather Pizza.....Everything from their Appetizer Sampler to their Snicker Dough Dessert is yummy. This isn't a health driven place if that's what you're looking for but, if you want to find some awesome and yummy comfort food, then this is the spot. You wont regret it, and the staff is friendly and helpful.....The only thing is parking and when it gets busy....it's a long wait but well worth it.
Pros: Great yummy food, staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are worth it.
Cons: parking, and it gets very hectic during lunch hour.

Where do you go to eat when you are on vacation in a new city?? After a full day of up and down the coast with a 9 year old and a 4 year old, from the Zoo to the beach; Mom and Dad needed a place to relax, sample the local cuisine, and recharge. Where to go!?! We found the PCG listed on our GPS unit. Modern Technology! After an easy drive to the restaurant, we were pleasantly presented with a gem. Easy parking too! The hostess was great, addressing the kids also. We sat in the rear, deciding on not having the outdoor seating which looked relaxing in the courtyard. Music was great, excellent decor and dining room feel for our new experience, a few date tables, a party of 10, another family or four and the other tables just beginning to fill up. Our waiter was excellent. Greeted us right away. My wife had one of the specialty cocktails, and it was fabulous. I settled for a local brew, recommended by our attentive waiter. Nick was great! The kids were very happy with their selection from the kids menu AND it came out with our appetizers as suggested by our waiter, before we even asked. BONUS POINTS!$$! We had the tartare and the Hawaiian BBQ skewers. Both were plated very well with the menu description, and the waiter's recommendation being spot on. The wonton crisps were a little thick, but the taste and combinations were excellent. Not just a garnish, the greens and avocado were an tasty mix. Our dinner entrees were also just as appealing, filled with flavor and color, with the Ahi tuna and the pan-seared sea bass. Both were cooked, seasoned, plated well. Tastes were exciting and fresh. We decided to pass on the desserts as the kids were exhausted. We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of our meal, and the little extra attention for kids to make them feel special. An excellent meal that made our dining excursion while on vacation in San Diego a success. I was surprised not to see more reviews.
Pros: service, family friendly, ambience, parking, decor, overall, tastes
Cons: not enough time for another visit
