Have been special ordering and buying from Don at Habitation for almost 7 years. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate - spend time with me going over ideas. I've never been disappointed. Is it possible to have a bad experience? Maybe. But this place is so much fun to be in, shop at and try things - and the staff is always nothing but helpful. I've been able to return a piece of furniture (albeit, not a custom job - no need to anyway, I've been pleased with all my pieces) that didn't work in my house. The place is great - prices a great. I can't recommend Habitation enough. Budgets are considered. You can go in with an idea and an image - Don worked with me to create my pieces. Told me what was possible and what wasn't - even included things I didn't consider (because what do I know - I don't work with design and wood!) If what you want can't be done for the budget you're working with, they'll tell you and will work with you to come up with something that will work. So, you get an education and a nice piece of furniture! not bad, eh? I love Habitation. I tell everyone about it. If you want a home that reflects more of you, that is not like every other house on the block, then you need to check this place out.

I live right down the street from Habitation and have the pleasure of passing by it every day. They always have unique and beautiful peices displayed in their windows and out on the sidewalk. Everything about the place just looks custom made and not liek the cookie cutter furniture out there. The few items I have purchased from them are both beautiful and durable. This is a great place if you are looking for good quality furniture with character.

I bought a stereo cabinet there and I was very pleased with it. The service was good, I thought. It was a unique, custom design and I knew it would take awhile. I didn't expect to take it home that day like IKEA. It took less than 4 weeks and that was less than I expected.Delivery people- they didn't disappoint me. I live on the second floor and it wasn't easy to get it in here but they did their job very well.I like their stuff but I know custom made furniture takes awhile sometimes.I like the store and the staff and use them for my primary source for pieces.

I was told about Habitation and the various pieces that they sale so I decided to stop by to see what was available. I was told that I could have some pieces custom sized and that they would not cost much more than what I saw at the old Helms Bakery in Culver City. With my order, I was told that it would take only 2-3 for completion which I was excited about. Three weeks passed, not one word from the staff. I called after four weeks and was told that they should be done within the week. Well, I didn't get them until over 8 weeks after placing the order. I was not apologized to nor offered a discount of any sort. This is not good business by any standards. It is always better to give more time to complete a job and have it arrive earlier rather than 5 weeks later. I like my pieces but will not do business here again based on the lack of courtesy offered by the staff.
