The fact that this place has never been raided is an indication of how paid off everyone might be. The menu and kitchen are a sincere effort, but the questionable 'services' this place promotes are alarming and underworldly . The arrogance of the security staff makes me consider that organized crime is NOT on the decline! Oh well, that's life in the USA i guess... I would NOT recommend this place to any respectable or law abiding citizen or family! Pros: decent food! Cons: too many underworld dealings.

I've been here twice on Saturday nights and all I have to say is that the bar is awful. Everytime I've ordered Jack Daniels, they pour me Jim Beam...in a Jack bottle. Now I know that the times are hard right now but that is just unacceptable. You can't fill a different liquor into another bottle and expect me to be happy with that.

I live not too far from the Gaslamp (about 10 minutes north) and I've been in a few times now and always have a good experience. I've had a few different dinners. My present favorite is the blackened swordfish. I've been on a seafood kick lately and also love King's. This is comparable to their dishes I think. It came with rice and veggies and it was all really well prepared. I also enjoy the margaritas there (my drink of choice). And I was in for a happy hour recently and it was only $2.75! That's pretty hard to beat. I've also been to a couple of the wine tastings on Thursdays (trying to graduate from the margaritas for dinner). The hostess is super friendly and informative. And either the pours are pretty generous, or she was flirting with me. Either way, it was cool. I'm in my late 30s, dine out regularly, and feel totally comfortable highly recommending the Gaslamp. Everybody I've encountered has been totally welcoming and friendly and the food and drinks have been really good. Not to be too gay or anything, but there's a really nice vibe in the place. Pros: good food and drinks, wine tasting, easy free parking Cons: hours of operation aren't posted

First, the service was terrible. The waitress was rude and did nothing to make our night pleasant. She was short with us, slow, inaccurate with the orders and somehow seemed unapologetic about it all. The food was downright terrible, almost inedible. My friend returned her "pesto" pasta dish because it was basically plain noodles. I sat right next to her and couldn't even see any pesto at all. I had the steak, bad call. First the waitress came and asked who got the salad like she didn't know who ordered what. I said I did. She looked at it and said "you had Ranch?", I said "No Blue Cheese" and she handed me the salad anyway. Nice. The steak was rubbery, the plain white rice was crunchy like it was scrapped from the side of the pan and the veggies were soggy and cold. Never got my last drink that I ordered either. Now, I've heard from some reviewers say don't go to a bar for a dinner. But when the place advertises itself as a restaurant what should I expect? The whole scene sucked and I'll never go back. BTW-It's unfortunate that a good, fun band like Knight Rider played at this dump. They really need a new gig. Pros: None. Cons: Food is awful, terrible service and the place has that "filthy" feel to it.

Friday nights are totally awesome at the gaslamp with great 80s cover band Knyght Ryder, they rock! I love the atmosphere and the people are layed back and REAL you won't find any possers here just real people looking to have a good time! The only negative about this place is if you have dinner be prepared to wait over an hour for it! it wasn't even good and part of my meal was cold and it's quite expensive. This place is great for Drinks & Dancing only! Pros: Atmosphere, People, Music Cons: Food
